A few days ago when I was listening to a CD on Real One Player it started jumping the song and wouldn't play.

Then the next day I stick it in and it said please insert a disc, it's been doing that for a couple of days now and I don't know how to fix it.

I really want to listen to it! I'm going crazy! fear

JKozzy
Use Windows Media Player v10 yes

Frosty Beverage
buy a cd player. or get a diff copy of that cd.

The Tired Hiker
Is the disc scratched?

Beastro
Is it a Neil Diamond cd?If so then the pc just got smart smile

BlackC@t
The disc isn't really dirty or scratched.

I tried Media Player and it still said there was no disc sad

Fearnix
mabe it's the evil CD pixies

BlackC@t
It must be something to do with my hard drive or real one player or something because I stuck in one of my brothers CDs' and that didn't work either.

JKozzy

BlackC@t
I think it's because I didn't upgrade Real One Player the other day, how do I do that?

Beastro
Why dont you just throw the cd away and then download the songs onto your computer from a website and then burn em unto a cd? smile

BlackC@t
I don't have a CD burner.

I think it' something with the Drive.

Jackie Malfoy
You can always go and buy another one!JM

dean7879
or she could just do what beastro siad and download the songs

BlackC@t
That takes way too long and will slow down my computer. It's not the CDs', my rbother CD that had no scratches on it didn't work either.

BakaXero
any of the cds work on your comp?
does you comp dectect your cd rom drive?
how old is your cdrom?

BlackC@t
The computers about 6 years-old.

It doesn't detect the CD's. In Real One Player it says please insert a CD, it's the same with Windows Media Player.

BlackC@t
The CD works fine in my Disc-man.

BakaXero
im not talking about the players
im talking about your actual comp

when you open up "my computer" do you see the cdrom drive icon?

BlackC@t
Yes.

BlackC@t
When I try and go into it, it says "Derm is not accesible. The device is not ready."

What's up with that?

BakaXero
and you tried using it with a cd with computer software and it doesnt work?
you may need a new cd rom...
i would tell you to check other things but you said you comp was 6 years old and you use your cdrom quite often right?
i think its your actual cd rom

BlackC@t
Is there anyway to fix it?

I really want to listen to my CD's!

BakaXero
well you could by a new cd rom and install it it should be pretty cheap now...
cause dvd roms are pretty cheap now too
well where i am they are....
i guess you problem there would be who could install it for you...
cause if you get the shops to do it they may rip you off...

BlackC@t
Oh I hope the problem just fixes itself sad

BlackC@t
I just wanna' smash the bloody thing with a hammer! mad

BlackC@t
I knew I should have saved the CD onto my computer!

BakaXero
even if you dont need to but a new cd rom the problem still seems to be one where you have to fix the system setup...
would you be able to find a person that understands computers
cause its kinda hard to explain the thing you need to do over the net without seeing the actual problem

BlackC@t
Yeah, my Uncle fixes computers for a living.

I tried using a DVDs' online features just before but it didn't pick up the DVD either.

BakaXero
why not ask him to check
i know it has something to do with your cd rom...
nothing to do with real player or media player.
its definately your CD rom by the sounds of it

BlackC@t
Aw shit...

BlackC@t
I'm fixing the solution. I'm downloading the songs on the CD that I like evil face

BakaXero
lol hahaha

BlackC@t
I knew if I put my mind to it I could fix the problem smart

BlackC@t
Okay, I need help now.

My brother's acusing me of braking it. I told him that's just what computers do after awhile then he got crazy saying they don't just do that.

Can you post something prooving that that is what happens to computers when they get old.

BakaXero
well its actually recommended that you should replace your cdrom every 6 months...i think it was..
but it not nessesary you did have it for a while and would have used it alot... nothing lasts... things that get old get damaged easier...
its not just computers alot of things are like that...

BlackC@t
How much does it cost to replace it?

BakaXero
well i cant really tell you cause we use different currency...

BlackC@t
Oh, okay. Thanks anyway, and thanks for your help.
