The claim that Tarantino stole from City on Fire is FALSE!

Behold! I have seen City on Fire (a film starring Chow Yun Fat and has been proclaim that it was rip off by Reservoir Dogs) and there are only at least two similarities between the two films!

Yes, these two are totally different films and there is NO rip off. There is a scene fairly similar in which the leader of the gang shoots at two cops in a police car. But that is it! The warehouse scene and the dialogues are waaaaay different than Reservoir dogs. Then there is the scene in which the driver of the get away car dies and as you know we see the same similarity in RD when QT dies of the bullet shot in the head.

Indeed you must both films and you will draw the same conclusions. Is not a rip off and QT is free of any charges of plagarism! The ending is also VERY different.

In RD both the cop (Tim Roth) and robber (Harvey Keitel) died. Whereas in COF the robber (forgot the name of the actor) lives and the undercover cop (Chow Yun Fat) dies BUT not as of a result of robber's rage. The undercover cop dies because of the shots fired by his fellow cops.

So there you have it! Watch City on Fire and you'll see the difference. batman

Maybe they mean he stole from the movie, it sounds like it basically has the same plot... there is a warehouse scene... the getaway dies...

Cinemaddiction
The plot was what is in question, not so much the film itself.

Who really cares though... no film is completely and totally wholey orginal.. inspiration comes from everywhere. and we all know tarantino's and how his movies are like a collage of his. Just enjoy the damn move!
