I hate how some people buy guitars just for the sake of having them with no intention of actually learning how to play, it is such a waste.

DRUMS!! they kiss ass there my life id go insain without them last time i played with the band my hands started 2 bleed and i brock 2 cymbals, currently im going through 2 pares of sticks a week im insain about drums!!! any 1 seen G_d smack live thats the esact drum set up we have at the garage we play at next time my hands bleed ill take a photo and post it on here.

No affence to bassist i love some bassist some of them are reali good but well i carnt reali say coz iv tryed most instruments but the bass, but it looks kinda simple 2 me?? well compared to other instruments?

that is the most biased statement people make about the bass.
any good guitar player will tell you a guitar player has to learn bass to truly play it right.
with the bass nothing is harder than slapping sixteenth notes and popping at the same time.
if your listining to most rock the bass won't be that impressive and highlighted.
if you realy want to hear bass listen to jaco pastoroius or marcus millar and those are just a few.

victor wooten uses his thumb also a pick.
he don't need a pick cause he can down stroke and upstoke with his thumb.


and trust me,playing bass isn't easy and you know why?
you always meet someone naive whether it be a druken bar hopper or a shred guitarist who says "isn't the bass pretty easy"?
Or when your playing and they keep turning you down and eventualy someone ask what's missing and you have to point out the bass.

Once a soundman was setting our levels and assumed we weren't a very bass oriented band but i incorporate a lot of slapping and popping in our music.The sound was dissatisfiying to the band i was in i we adjusted them ourselves.

so you deal on an average bases of people questioning the instrument you love and play everyday and tell me it's easy to play.
us bass players are a special breed.
to prove it I have a huge ass bass clef tattotoed on my right forearm.
i'm proud to play bass and will until the day I die

So if you realy want to be an awesome musician don't choose an obvious instrument thay will get you noticed.
pick and instrument like bass that not everybody notices and make bass lines that demmand to be herd!!!!

i think people underrate most musicians

i mean seriously, i have a friend who is learning bass and it takes her alot of effort,

and me, being a female drummer, get looked down upon by my friends and shit... like one guy would have me in his band because I'm a girl.. he didn't even let me play for him , and alot of people say that drums are the easiest instrument to play ... which is a HUGE understatement... it takes a ton of discipline..

yep.
if you play music some instruments will come easier than others.
sometimes you'll take on the harder ones and if you stick with it you be glad you did.
to me drums are the hardest instrument.

it was realy hard learning becuase when i started my hand - eye was hoorid

i mean seriously i had to put ALL of my concentration into the drumming, know i can play a whole song and have a convorsation with someone, or watch some tv

it hurts my legs to much to hit the bass drum.
Not to mention i'm just not cordinated.
I guess if i put more time into it I might be alright

though bass sounds better guitar rocks! there is such thing as a metal guitar, right? i mean one that can make metal music.

Guitar... Mostly electric but recently I've taken a liking to steel acoustic guitars as well...

Ringo Starr used to sing while he was drumming. Of course he hardly played complex beats. Though I agree with you that people underestimate how hard drums are. I could never do it, mostly because I have a terrible sense of rhythm. I've been reading music since I was seven and I've never been able to read hard rhythms

Yer i no there a some back up singingers that play drums but can u honesty say that u can play complex decent beats and do lead vocals?

How r people doing on the double bass? can any 1 els do it coz i mean doesnt it just full piss u off some times iv been playin double bass for queit a while now and i still can keep a fast roll going for more than 10 15 seconds

I can appreciate any instrument as long as it's played well, even the kazoo. Seriously, I have the utmost respect for drummers who sing at the same time. There was a Aussie punk band called Seraph's Coal who had a drummer/lead singer and he was full on amazing to watch.

i would say mabe the drums and electric gutiar.
