Darth Vader not as limbless as we think

Now either i forgot where its been confirmed that vader loses both legs and arms . Or theres a picture out there that clearly shows vader is limbless excluding his head and mechanical arm. I believe that anakins head is only scorched. and he is either stabbed in the rib cage to prevent him from breathing. Or maybe he inhales fire or smoke and it damages it that way. The evendence i have to back up this theory, are the recent pictures of the action figures being released. Theres one where you can swap heads with anakin, burnt anakin and vader. Then theres that latest lego set, where anakin is on a platform being transformed into the dark lord. Even there, the toy is clearly in his jedi uniform but his head is severly injured and hairless. And it would make sense too, i mean in rotj luke cuts off that one robot hand. The only confirmed bionic replacement weve seen on screen. I know theres that one pic of a very crispy anakin, but i read that was pieced together from other sources. So was it confirmed legit or fan made? My last piece of evedence is the obvious weight gain. In the promo pictures of vader, he is obviously youthful and thinner. As anakin reachs his 30s-40s he has put on alot of extra muscle. And i know the man behind the mask was a body builder. But its also the character, so im pretty confident that vader is still flesh under neath his sith clouthing. And that only his head was burnt and scarred.

What are your thoughts on my theory , i was just laying in bed and it all became so clear. i had to get up and post it. So either prove me wrong, or consider my speculation.

if you do agree with me and have opinions and theorys on this topic please post them.

GL stated in the OT DVD somewhere that yes he whould be indeed losing him left arm too and a leg, maybe both.
In between lego and SW movies, I know which I'd go with for trueisms about SW...The photographer/marketing dept. of the lego shot were probably not privvy to the script anymore than we were and probably don't care enough to find out better/do research to the extent of most of us fans.... So don't take too much to heart from the Lego pic...
Interesting "Large action figure pic" however, but do we know for sure that detachable limbs aren't featured...? Looks like they've gone as far a the changable/detachable head, but we know he isn't decapitated....
And as you can see, It seems to come with Not only his Jedi garb, but his "Post-Burning 'accident' clothes" too which do look like the Spoiler pics we saw before......

thats the whole toy set, no detachable limbs are prominent. i wonder why his pants are gray there, they seem brown in all the other pictures ive seen. And legos pretty good when it comes to details and authenticity . Youd think if anakin was limbless and his body was a burnt mess. they would make a an accurate figure reflecting it.

Sadako of Girth
No...They are black/Grey, his Cloak however is brown.... smile
And even if this were not the case, It's just a doll and unless that doll itself actually features in ROTS i'd be hesitant to accept it as canon.
Remember that the makers of these toys don't work for Lucasfilm.

Altar[1stONE]
yes that toys pants are black/gray but over all in the promo shots and movie scenes. even in the duel, his pants are a dark velvet like brown. what burnt clouthing are you refering to, i dont see any.

Sadako of Girth
OK just confirmed that... Yep Youre right....
So looks like hasbro were a bit wrong.
Unless thy based it on THIS shot....

i tink i trust george lucas' more than legos or toys

Altar[1stONE]
i do too, but what about the weight gain? surely bionic replacements cant grow in mass.

Sadako of Girth
Part replacements...???
If vader gets a "beer gut" type physique or even bigger through muscle in the trunk, then still having skinny little arms/legs'd make little sense i terms of practicality or look.

Sadako of Girth
I meant the limbs which in the pic are attached at that time to the doll/figure... You wouldn't need a replacement one there as in the spoiler pics we've seen, they have simply been cut or burned off.
So naturally you wouldn't have any extra ones in the box.

He's already lost one arm, and the current thinking is that he loses the other arm and one leg.

"He's more machine now than man..."

Sounds like more than just one arm and a breathing mechanism to me.

Altar[1stONE]
meh only time will tell.

Sadako of Girth
True enough.
And if Anakin doesn't lose and arm and at least one leg,
i'll not only eat my hat, but the the person who crafted it.
And send you the money for a beer. smile

bilb
Yup Yup yes

That and there is a little thing called 'suspension of disbelief'. Its what makes movies work. Also explains away any 'weight gain'.... wink

Darth_Nefarus
Well, he falls into lava. Odds are his legs and/or both arms are completely burned and destroyed beyond recognition.
As long as he looks ridiculously nasty after the lava bath, I will be happy.

Altar[1stONE]
hmm something like this? http://www.aptirrelevance.com/sw-archive/imgview.php?id=00669

(Bake'em, grill'em, fry'em, eat'em...)They're Waffley versatilllle" wink

tlbauerle
I think regardless of limbs, Kentucky Fried Anakin will most certainly be "more machine than man"

Cipher
Maybe just his legs (and possibly an arm) get dipped in lava.
If his whole body went in, there'd be nothing left of him.

Doesn't sound pleasant either way......

Sadako of Girth
Agreed, for an accurate comparison, "get a rich tea biscuit in some Tea/Coffee, holding half of it in there for 30 secs then put it back out..
The half you are holding will of course be fine...." wink

Taken from 'Anakin Skywalker: Biscuit or man...?'

laughing As superb as they can be, just have an unfortunate habit of turning your drink into a nasty sludge in the end don't they.... smile
