What do you think is the most pretentious album you've heard?

It can be in terms of music, lyrics or attitude, in either good or bad way.

I created this thread coz Vic and I were discussing it and I wanted to see what you thought.

The Mars Volta have pretentious lyrics, in a bad way.

Dark Side of the Moon is very pretentious.

LOTS of Metallica's stuff...

Anything by Moby...that guy is positively insufferable.

i dont think lots of metallica albums are. i think Lars is pretentious 24/7

Marillion with Fish as lead vocal are positively pretentious, especially Misplaced childhood

or were....thankfully not heard anything of them for ages

I'd have said they were the exact opposite.

i dont think that the darkness are, they take the piss out of themselves constantly. i've got nothing against them

Yeah its just the media brainwashing potential fans into dislikeing them.

Sorry but it WAS researched. Muse ARE pretentious although that doesn't make them a bad band.

I woukdnt say they were at all.

Well, Matt Bellamy is. I like some of his lyrics but alot of them are just overly self-indulgent and Matt doesn't seem to know what his songs mean half the time.

The Darkness don't take the piss out of themselves, they have fun and play music and people take the piss out of em.
