botankus
Okay, I'll rate number nine. It contains eight movies in seven years, including four that haven't been made yet. And five years from now there will, or maybe there might, be a movie made in 2010. But there definately will. Maybe.

ragesRemorse
You really like all those movie so much that you couldnt narrow your favorites down to 5 or 10? How the hell do you decide what kind of ice cream to get? Anyway if i were to rate your list i would give it a 3 out of 10. alot of good movies but some were to much of the same as each other.

BackFire
I don't see One flew over the cuckoos nest on that list, thus I don't agree with it.

Cinemaddiction
Why do you insist on starting threads all about YOUR favorite movies?

Those are the ones in your list that I really really like. Now wasn't that interesting...

King Burger
Any list that doesn't have "Howard the Duck" on it, I have no use for.

Piggle Humsy
Some good ones in there, u wanna see about 1/5 of my fave movies check out my profile.. I could probably list about 3000, I'm really bad at narrowing things down! lol

Cinemaddiction, although i am inclined to agree with you he is expressing his opinion,
so let them have their fun

Cinemaddiction
Caed, this marks about the 6th time that John's shared this list, looking for people's imput. It's kind of redundant and pointless.

Frankly, to have been a movie fan all your life, I'm having a hard time understanding why the list is lacking important movies such as "Snow White", "Airplane!", Charlie Kaufman films, Tim Burton films, "Night of the Living Dead", "Planet of the Apes", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"...I mean...?

You shouldn't care about what other people think about your taste in movies, but since you're asking, I think your list is severely flawed.

I'll give you TWO more good reasons why. No "Goodfellas" and no "Godfather".

BackFire
Well, he did say "favorite" movies, not "best" movies.

Cinemaddiction
I understand that, but how can you like "Scarface", and leave off "Godfather" or "Goodfellas", and hold "ANTZ" in higher regard in favoritism?

Baffling.

RZA
Die Hard 1 & 2 but not 3 *scratches head*confused

btw, 'The Last Unicorn' was a great animated film, very underrated.

Myth
Top ten makes me sad. sad

Nothing close to my list. no

I like scarface way better then godfather, found it boring really. Haven't seen goodfellas, don't like the mobster type movies, they're all the same thing.

Johnlindsey289
I felt part 3 of Die Hard was weak but preety good even though i have the entire trilogy on DVD!

It's also nice to see someone else loves Last Unicorn, i agree it's an underappreciated movie and one of my favorite movies as a kid along with " Dark Crystal" and " Secret of NIMH".

I also thought "ANTZ" was a brilliant but underappreciated animated movie, sure it had some competition against Bug's Life in 1998 but both movies are fantastic.

MildPossession
We all have different tastes in films, especially when it comes to favourites. So if there isn't certain films on the list, so be it.

Jackie Malfoy
Very good collection of movies.Between one and ten you get a twelve!JMwow

botankus
Because I'm anal about the sorting factor and the lack of effort involved in it, on a scale of 1 to 10 I'm giving it a 4.

Then you've obviously never seen "Goodfellas", which I can't believe. It's hands down THEE quintessential mob movie. Most everyone would agree.

botankus
I would agree with Cory. On a similar note, I saw Paul Sorvino in the Broadway Series South version of Fiddler on the Roof two months ago in Raleigh.

No I haven't seen that.

I've actually been meaning too for a number of years, just never get around too it.

Piggle Humsy
Where's all the classics like..

Goonies, Stand By Me, Breakfast Club, Lost Boys, Ferris Bueller ect ect... dontgetit

You know I didn't mean anything by what I said, right? I figured EVERYONE has seen "Goodfellas" by now. Martin Scorsese, I find to be a little overrated, but man.."Goodfellas" is just a solid, solid movie.

BackFire
No, I know you meant nothing, I really have been meaning to see that movie forever.

I love you.

Seriously though, you left off A LOT of great movies... so a 5 I guess.

Wait. Why do you care about what people think of your favorite movies anyway? Is the fact that I gave you a lower rating going to change your opinions on these movies?

forumcrew
id give it a 4 and i doubt it will make him change his opinion but maybe he will stop making these threads

and goodfellas is awesome

MildPossession
If you like films like Goodfellas check out the wonderful The Funeral by the film director Abel Ferrara with a fantastic cast.

Not amazing like Goodfellas, but excellent anyway.

Soth
I have not yet found the movie that I can identify as my 'favorite.' It all depends on my mood

RZA
I just noticed another obvious omission. No Gladiator? c'mon dude that should be on anyone's top list.
And what about the Rush Hour movies?

Cuckos nest is the best film ever so yes i agree with backfire

phlizmo
I skimmed the list but didn't notice Lolita, A Clockwork Orange, The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, The Time Machine (Pal), Message from Space, Clash of the Titans or any other Harryhausen flicks, Help!, A Hard Days Night, Gimme Shelter, Ringu, Requiem For A Dream, Memento, Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man........ To answer your question , "Do I have good taste or what? " ...
Er...No. I guess you really dont. But I guess you do like cartoons.

There are plenty of good films in HIS list, and each taste differs, it's good taste to him, and frankly that's all that should matter.

I agree, Godfather was a much better movie then Scarface. But, he might not have seen Godfather.

Yeah, but posting his list and asking for a rating. gives the right for other people to tear apart and criticize his taste. Especially when his list is so completely off balanced. He has shit in one hand, and gold in the other.
