Its definately more in the tradition of the original three posters than its is in the new wave posters of the prequel trilogy.
Its not exactly what I envisoned, but I think I will grow to like it.

can somone post all the other finished posters from the movies..in something larger then the ones ive seen on the website for star wars id like to compare them...if no one can find them thats ok too

It has R2 on Ani's ship, but the movie isn't about Grievous, or 3PO, and Dooku dies 10 minutes in. Hmm...methinks they aren't needed in the poster!

that's a great point. i never noticed that before.

i'm so on the fence abour the new poster. for me, struzan can do no wrong--stylewise. but the composition just looks off to me. not as tight as the others. and that sidious...maybe it just looks strange now because i haven't seen the movie. i'm sure the artist got to see a lot more reference materials than we all have. and who cares about 3PO and R2 not being in the new one? we all know what the hell they look like. grevious would have been nice though.

Im not suprised, very few people do seem to notice it but once you do it always sticks out.Its just so stupid. It is clearly luke on bespin because of the blaster, and if that weren't a big enough give away, his lightsaber is blue for christ sake! I just dont see how they could screw up that badly.

I actually never minded it too much because all three posters are really one image. If you look at ANH, Leia is from ESB, on ESB the Emperor is from ROTJ and Vader's Tie Fighter from ANH is there too. When all three are together, it's not the biggest deal in the world.

I've been thinking about this new poster for quite a while, and it just doesn't fit with the other two, or five actually. All the others were pretty top heavy, and this one is weighted too low and not balanced. I've always wanted to add the prequel posters to the wall in my office where the SE's hang, but now they won't all look good together. TPM was the best prequel poster. I think this is the worst, even considering the shiny Anakin in AOTC.

I'd love to see an alternate Ep III art! I heard that DREW had several concepts, but LFL merged two ideas together for the final poster. Have to do what the client wants I guess...

and how come the EP. 1 poster is the only one to have a tagline at the top, i think it would be better if they went all or not just looks sloppy that way, but hey thats just me

yeah it was big image...the posters...if you check the x-wings on a new hope...they are actually chased by the tie-fighters on the empire strikes back poster. The image was changed ofcourse, now the tie fighters look bigger and if you see them together now it doesnt look anymore like they are chasing them

i like this one too...not only because it has dooku in it but i also like the anakin face..it shows a menacing face...very fitting for an upcoming epsiode 3

That was actually an AOTC concept...

Pretty cool, although it doesnt seem to 'fit' with the others

its because those poster never saw photoshop.
dont get me wrong, i love photoshop, but only when appropriate.
when we are originally given high quality illustrations, and now are given
photoshopped images...i kinda feel jipped.
