A new movie genres category will be created soon. To find out which forums should be placed within the new section, I want to take a quick opinion poll.

So please select the genres you would most like to see (and would use regularly) from the poll above.

i was gonna ask about foreign cinema before but keep forgeting...

Sci-fi, foreign, and animation

I think all of them would be nice to include, but im soo eager for Animation! I cant wait to make a thread about Emperor's New Groove babeh droolio

woo for English colonization.. anything non-english is deemed 'foreign' or even worse - 'world'

sci fi (if there's a star trek section i'll never leave it ), action, foreign (i love asian cinema), animation, hell all of them...

As this should primarily (for parternship name sakes) be a movie forum - what about having all of them We have so many other forums why not be a little more specific with movies.

Foreign Cinema and Sci-Fi.

Drama, Action, and Comedy are too generalized, and would virtually eliminate the need for the MDF itself for the most part.

That said, I, too, voted for the other 3.

There's PLENTY of Foreign film supporters out there WAITING for a forum in which to share their thoughts, just like Sci Fi.

If you build it, they will come. I'm a HUGE Besson fan, BTW. Wasabi, Fifth Element, and Professional, namely. Same goes for Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

ive never considered leon foreign... maybe thats just me... i'd definately post in it... and any of besson or jeunet's stuff too...

The Asian movies a pretty big....and who says you have to talk about resent movies?

Japan has alot of good horrors
i think theres plenty there already
not to mention the movies made by mutiple cultures...
this is a forum about movies aint it?
i believe forign movies arent getting enough credit
and Hollywood have stolen alot of idea and remade alot of movies from other countries

There's pleeeeeeeeeenty to merit a Foreign section. I mean, it's apparent that it would be a successful forum, given its lead in the polls over 5 other propositions.

I have nothing against the section, just that it might perhaps get some posters the first month but then will get one post every week or something

I voted for Foreign Cinema as well but I feel it' s aimed too high. How many of you can name me, without research, Belgian productions?

I would suggest you merge the Animations/CGI forum with the Anime/Manga..

I think Disney / Pixar / Dreamworks are different to Anime

Indeed, very different. Thats why "Manga" was included in the titled. So that fans could discuss their favorite manga books, magazines, and books. Anime is very broad also in the sense that it includes Movies and TV shows.

Yes thats true. But we can consider anime to be a subcategory of animation. It still falls under the term animation hence where the word "anime" comes from.


But the Animation/CGI/Manga forum was only a suggestion that you can totally ignore if you wish..

Uhh, i think this was kind of a bad idea, i mean the Movie Forum will be getting alot less posts now

That's fine. Sci Fi needed it's own forum like something horrible. Besides, it's better for people with like interests to congregate. There's still a great deal of things to be discussed in the MDF, given there are still indies, action. comedy, romance, etc, which makes up the majority of Hollywood releases.

I'm not worried.

I just want to point out how insanely active the Movie Genres forum is!

I always knew it would be a good idea, and I'm happy to see it come to fruition.

wait a few weeks before you say it's active, now that it's created some members make a thread or two, post a bit but then stop coming cause they have had their say

Oh I meant to ask. Sci-Fi's in the movie genre forum...so does that mean we can only discuss movies in there or can we also do sci-fi/fantasy books or TV shows?

Well, it's just for movies, since there's a Literature forum as well as a Television forum.

yeah, but anime and manga aren't just films. Manga's the books, and they're in the movie genre forum...

That would be an exception then.

So no tv or books in Sci-Fi forum then?
