Posted it it because most of it's funny and quite a bit of it's true.
Bardock42
I like that...its funny.
botankus
As far as the last one, Subtle humor is easy to follow. It's that damned closed-captioning I have to use that turns me off!
Linkalicious
After reading that...I get the funny feeling it was written by an Aussie.
Lana
That was pretty funny....
Bardock42
I thopught it was written by a canadian...but that are stereotypes that at least are known aren't they.
Clovie
omg

i love it
"Americans: Cross the southern border for cheap shopping, gas, & liquor in a backwards country.
Canadians: Cross the southern border for cheap shopping, gas, & liquor in a backwards country. "

If that's true, then I question his judgment in actually listing Yahoo Serious.
Linkalicious
I seriouesly questioned the first part about being American.
I don't know w single American that would want to be considered Candian while traveling abroad.
I can see the reasons for it....but I can't see someone actually doing it.

I know that's what I do when I travel abroad. Then, I have to spend five minutes explaining that I don't live in an igloo and keep a grizzly tied to the tree out front. That's when the glamour of being considered Canadian begins to come back to bite me.
Bardock42
True that was kind of stupid but made me think a canadian wrote it.....the real problem with that is though that Americans don't travel abroad

Linkalicious
why should we?

Linkalicious
Nah...almost everyone of them is "worth" watching.
I just choose to stick to about 20 of them. HDTV nature shows are awesome!!!
Deano

Discover HD (channel 76 on DirecTv) is one of my favorites, too.
Linkalicious
I watch the BBC sometimes....they have better coverage of Iraq than America because we just get the biased crap.
The only real European television I watch regularly is Premiership Football....oh and I guess you could consider the Ali G show....even though I'm sure 90% of American's think he's from the US.
Deano
u like premiership football?
Linkalicious
Hell yah....what we play over here isn't football...it's soccer. (Amature Footie)
So I don't think there is a problem with the difference in the name considering the skill levels involved.
I just don't follow any specific team because none can be considered a "home team" for me.
did Chelsea play yesterday or the day before?
Ushgarak
If only the first were true- but Brits get mistaken for Australians all the time, same as the other way around- seems Americans have difficulty with the difference there.
Linkalicious
American's stereotype Candians to the point where if you aren't say "eh" after ever phrase...then you're obviously not Canadian.

Yah I saw when the scored on the corner kick...that was pretty much all the game I got to see before studying for a test.
Europeans and South Americans do with their feet what basketball players do with their hands...
Deano
yeah....hows freddy adu doing?
is he still doin great?
Linkalicious
Honestly....I don't know.
I'm waiting for him to turn 18 and jump ship to Europe before I start following him.
Deano
i didnt think american tv showed english football
so do u get to see the champions league too?
Linkalicious
I get Fox Sports World and they do nothing but cover Aussie rules football and European/South American football games.
It's practically 24/7 football around the world.
Deano

Linkalicious

fifa is crap
pro evolution soccer is the best game
or the even better winning eleven 8 , which is the japanese version
Bardock42
I hate Fifa EA is the Devil......yes Kahn is a pretty decent keeper.
Linkalicious
I keep hearing all this hype about Pro Evo Soccer...I'm getting it next year, so this better not disappoint....because isn't next year a World Cup year?

Deano
pro evo soccer has the best gameplay by far...it is very realistic..fifa just looks cool but the gameplay is crap
world cup is in 2006 yes
Linkalicious
I find the gameplay in Fifa to be pretty realistic...I really gotta try out Pro Evo.
Bardock42
Well and where is that world cup 2006?

I don't understand that either. I'm an American but, to ME at least, Aussies and Brits have very different accents. I mean, their kind of the same, but different. That's the best way I can describe it. But, explain this to me. Aussies can notice the difference between a person from Australia and New Zealand. I cannot.

Bardock42
Its probably because you are French at heart

finti
nah only the yanks are ignorant enough to believe in that so the fact that you mention and igloo to explain Canadian gives you away as a yank

New Zealanders: Dislike being mistaken for Australians! furious
No people, New Zealand is not a part of Australia, we don't sound like them, and we don't have kangaroos or kaulas!!!!!!!!
I can't stress that enough!

BlackC@t
Americans' know nothing about New Zealand.
Imaginary
Yeah I'm with you Cat, they don't know much about us either. They think Steve Irwin is cool, when every Aussie on the damn planet hates him.
Spooony
All of it is so bloody true, except we only pay tax for 2 channels, we get ITV and Channel4 for free!!! Wooo, its great 'cos i can imagine a lot of americans getting really pissy over it...
Not me though im british, Hail Sweeden...... where did tahat come from...

Tell me about it!
On a TV show they were talking about Kaulas in New Zealand. We don't HAVE Kaulas or Kangaroos in New Zealand!
Looks like Americans should do their research

Imaginary
Yeah, no shit

Afro Cheese
Why do you guys care about what Americans think about your country or our knowledge of your country's fauna? It really shouldn't make a difference.

I realize that their two entirely different countries and what not. But, I just can't tell the difference between the accents. I feel kind of bad about that two just because I'm one of those few Americans who actually hates it when people confuse things like that.
Oh, and trust me. NO ONE thinks that Steve Irwin is cool. At least not where I'm from.
Afro Cheese
Yeah, Irwin's a douche. He's the kind of guy where if he gets mauled by a bear or mutilated by an alligator, you have to think he had it coming.
Imperial_Samura
Heheh. Yes, I must admit as an Australian I cringe when I hear people from overseas compare Irwin and the rest of Australia. (I still remember him before he made it big appearing on Agro's cartoon connection and being bitten by a snake. Classic, but not fatal) Still, it's nice to see Australians making it big in international entertainment...
Cid
lol

that was pretty funny.
