this has nothing to do with KMC but I can't figgure it out!
I have a portal Worm on my comp! I've tryed EVERYTHING, system restore locks down, Virus Scann locks down, EVERYTHING!!!!
How do I get rid of it! It wont let me play any games or install anything!
Help!!!

make sure your virusscanner is up-to-date

i figured out i had it while trying to update it, so it wont dl the update!

there are online virusscanners you can try out

but I would wait till Raz posts a link to one of those

depands on the worm...some worms jam files on u're sistem...so there isn't any antivirus scan to fix that...
But still you gotta check it online...there is a very good one,that you can find it only online...can't remember the name...I'll go and search..

How do you know it's a worm?

I know its a worm bacause my computer genius friend told me and I know it's not spyware because I allready have Spy-bot search and Destroy and its the first thing i ran and it still don't work.

than click on "clamwin-0.1c-setup.exe", let it download and install it... that's the scanner, run it and you should get rid of it

Well, thanks for the effort Raz, but no go.
It don't work, it restarts my comp like all the others.

can you just save your important files on a CD or DVD and than format the disc?

or spend some money on a second HD, or borrow one install that one and run your comp from that HD to get to your files, or format one partition and reinstall your OS

Heh, my computer just recently decided that it won't even start up...thankfully we're getting a new one soon, but I need to figure someway to get it working long enough to back up my stuff because I have about a gig of files on my computer, between music and webdesign stuff

well, the easiest way to do is:
take out the HD, and get a computer that has a spare slot and place it back there, than you don't lose anything at al

I think what you may be experiencing is the worm blaster virus.

I would recommend doing the scan first to see if it can identify the virus.

isn't there a stinger out that can scan solely that virus?

just a quick update if any of you were wondering.
Well I bit the bullet and popped in the old quick restore dis, and wiped my HD.
But it still didn't work so now my comp is stuck in DOS mode, but My uncle is sending me stuff to fix it so my come should be up and running by the end of this week, but as of right now im usin the family's, older than god, i-mac.
Man I miss my comp!
