Everyone wears these things now. What kind do you wear?

draconigena
Eh, I have a purple one that says "hope" on it... for cancer, but I rarely wear it.

LanİeWindu™
I don't wear one.

I'm not the type to jump on every bandwagon under the sun, if I were to wear one it would be for a good cause, not because it is "IN" now.

draconigena
They're just way too fashionable now, it started out with a good cause, but then they were everwhere.

I bought the cancer one because I have 2 very good friends that have cancer right now. My $2 probably doesn't do much... but hey.

LanİeWindu™
I have a cousin with cancer, we do everything we can for her, not try to be fashionable.

amity75
I bought the yellow Lance Armstrong one when they first came out but theres so many kids wearing fake ones and it's annoying.

R0B
Charity bands are stupid, ugly, and not fashionable. I will give money to help people, not to recieve a stupid band

amity75
They remind me of the wrist thingies you used to get at the swimming baths. I've seen people with 6 on each wrist and it's a bit overkill.

Demarthl
i rarely wear clothes let alone stupid rings of rubber

LLG
I think I've heard of these charity bands. I never wear them, but a lot of people wear it in my school.

draconigena

silver_tears
I have an orange one for disabled kids

Mist
uh......what?

silver_tears
confused

Mist
whats a charity band?

silver_tears
it's an armband or bracelet made out of rubber commonly smile

Mist
oh.......

Mist
i dont get it....do you wear them all the time, like a watch?

silver_tears
you can, they're a bracelet, you don't have to wear them, you just pay like a buck or two for them, the money goes to charity, and you wear the bracelet to show your support if you want, they have them for like cancer, aids, etc etc yes

dave123
the money doesn't ALWAYS go to charity...

silver_tears
the legitimate ones anyways confused what kind of bands are you buying? stick out tongue

dave123
there's some Nike ones here for racism...

silver_tears
well the ones I have are legit stick out tongue

dave123
most in England are legit... I believe big grin

laalaa
i have a red 1 for the british heart foundation and i wear it for my dad! he passed away in january and tahts why i donated money beacsue he died of an enlarged heart? but i do agree with u theses things are not a fashion accessory and people shouldnt just buy them for the sake of trying to look fashionable! 1 or 2 doesnt look bad but all the way up ur arm does not mean that uc are more than others do about charitys. believe me they rnt fashion accessories!

ladygrim
The blue for bullying as i was bullyed for ages when at skewl....

Syren
I have a blue one, but it says 'Live Long - Be Strong'. I wear it all the time erm

reverence
I have a blue bullying one from radio one

Syren
I will admit that the fashion side of it is more than frustrating, but for those who pay money towards any charity, well they deserve to be commended, not ignored in the face of blatant commercialism. I'm still looking for one from Amnesty International, I have the button and I donate monthly.

Storm
I donate directly.

Syren
To Amnesty?

Storm
Amnesty, Broederlijk Delen, 11.11.11., beggars and projects from people I know and trust.

Blue Dragon
I had a white one saying 'Make Poverty History' but I sold it today to someone at school, I REALLY WANTED HIS BLACK ONE BUT HE WANTED IT! mad

That's really cool yes

Is 11.11.11 anything to do with the Armistice?

Ignite
i dont wear one....well cancer ones when its time but i dont have one for all the time.....im not one to follow suit

Syren
When it's time? That sounds so bad, do you think the actual cancer victims get the choice when to have the cancer? If you're showing support, you really shouldn't only wear the band when someone else decides it's the right time erm And stuff the fashion thing, that came about because of the genuine charity bands, not the other way around. I'm not going to stop wearing my real bands just because some insignificant ass is making money through the fashion productions.

BasketCase
I have a LiveStrong one.

Corran
I have the Livestrong yellow one, well several actually because when you get them through the Lance Armstrong foundation you can only get them in 10's so I got 10 adult and 10 youth for my kids (seemed a fair swop at the time). I also have an anti-racism one and some pink breast cancer ones - again bought in packs of 10.
