What do you guys think of this idea?

Thread born from an article i read in a recent gaming magazine, saying that due to the demand for high quality games and extremly high development time on next-gen games, companies may consider "Pay2Play" for single player games to help pay for sky rocketing development costs.

What do you guys think about this idea?

Im not sure what i think, i can understand where the idea comes from, but i dont think i could afford to keep paying everytime i wanted to play a game.

What does it mean Pay2Play?
What you buy the game online and dl to your computer?
Or, that you pay for singleplayer games which you already do so at stores.

Like you know how you pay a monthly fee for games like world of warcraft?

yeah probably, but what about if it was the same for consoles?

Im guessing most the next-gens will have internet built in, will it be so easy to crack them if it happened?

They'll probably lose quite a bit of market if they do this

yeah thats for sure, but its just an idea as of yet.

we can hope it stays an idea! and hope they work out a way to reduce development costs
