connection between the Haunted Mansion & PotC....

the daughter of a nobleman was once betrothed to a wealthy duke....
the year before their wedding, the duke had to go on a voyage and left his fiance at home (yes they lived together).....
little did the daughter of the nobleman know that her future husband was keeping a dark secret from her......
one day, being all alone and getting bored, the woman decided to explore the attic....
as she was searching, she came across an old chest......
when she opened it, she found many old treasure maps, stolen gold and other such stuff that pirates keep......
distraught to find that the man that she loved was not a noble duke but a pirate, she immediately commited suicide (thus the bride in the attic with the beating heart on the ride).....
now the "noble duke" had horrible fortune on his voyage......
he had lost his entire pirate crew, his plunder, his boat (like in the ride)....
when he returned home (after many years), her found his love dead in the attic.....
filled with grief, he hung himself from the tallest tower in his mansion (like the ride at the drop)....

this is the actual story told on the Disney tours told to me by my friend
perhaps the movies will mirror this story........
