most of the songs you listen to anyways are poetry and you dont know it

the reason i hate is because i can't think of rhymes like others

Poetry doesnt have to rhyme. There is free line, blank verse...Hardly any poetry rhymes, except for Shel Silverstein. There is the occsional two lines, sure, but most of it is in the beat. If you can keep a steady beat, the subtle rhyming will become apparent.

I can do better....in fact in the poetry subforum i posted on of my works of art.

I prefer poetry that rhymes...

i don't like love poetry.. i find it not very pretty..
but for example charles baudelaire and some poems from gillaume apolinaire i like very much..

I am searching to find something
A part of me that is missing
Where do I look
When the pieces of me seem so scattered
I never thought that something with such importance
Could be so easily lost
It seems the harder I try to fill this void within
The further I move away from what it is I long for
I need a place to explore my thoughts and feelings
A place without the judgment that silences me
How can I get closer to what has eluded me
When I feel so far away from the self that is me
my true self
Maybe I first have to admit the truth I've sealed away
The truth I've sworn to never let fall upon your ears
No matter how many questions I have yet to answer
I won't stop searching until it is the love we once shared
that I have found

as of right now it's the greatest title I've heard. I haven't been able to come up with anything. This poem has remained untitled for nearly 5 months.

From experience, when I have met people who openly dislike poetry, they often come to the same conclusion when asked why; generally because they see poets (stereotyped) as false and unrealistic, floating along in their hazy bubbles. I am inclined to disagree if only because I myself (try to) write poetry and I'm pretty grounded, no pink candy floss clouds surrounding my cranium

most of the time I write from experience, but occasionally something some1 says will inspire me. I can write a poem about anything.

the fairy tale luvvy duvvie stuff comes when I'm in love and addicted to it.

Me too I tend to find it easier to write when I have something I'm emotionally involved in, be it love, hate, anything that causes my feelings to roller-coaster... if life's boring, my poetry's kinda flat

if i were to write poetry about syren the ink would run off the page cos i were drooling too much

yea. I find myself walking around telling myself 'I wish I had something to write about' and when something bad happens I can't complain cuz I have something to write about.
