Deathblow
I've been having the mother of all arguments with a friend of mine this week, over which is the best album produced by a Clanster gone solo. He thinks that Return To The 36 Chambers (ODB) is the best, followed by RZA's Birth Of A Prince album, which just isn't right. Help me settle this, list your top 5 Wu solo records so I can print this page out and show him how wrong he really is (no one else we know is interested so you guys are my last hope stick out tongue)

Mine, in order of best to not so best:

1. GZA - Liquid Swords
2. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
3. Ghostface Killah - Ironman
4. U-God - Golden Arms Redemption
5. Method Man - Tical

2. Method Man - Tical The Prequel
3. ODB - N***a Please
4. GZA - Liquid Swords
5. Ghostface Killah - Pretty Tony

Alpha Centauri
Tical/Tical 2000: Judgement Day by Method Man.
N***a Please by ODB.
Beneath the Surface by GZA.
Uncontrolled Substance by Inspectah Deck.
Only Built For Cuban Linx by Raekwon.

hh?
you didn't like liquid swords AC?

mine: currently its:

Ghostface Killah- Ironman
Raekwon- Cuban Linx
Gza- Liquid Swords
ODB- Ni**a Please
Inspectah Deck- Uncontrolled Substance

Alpha Centauri
I love Liquid Swords, but it was that or Beneath the Surface for me.

Afro Cheese
Mine would definitely have Liquid Swords, Ironman, Built only 4 Cuban Linx and Tical, but I'm having trouble picking a 5th one and putting them in order..

hh?
as for Wu Tang Fam albums:

Warcloud- Nightmares That Surface From The SHallow Sleep
Killah Priest- Heavy Mental

and i cant put the rest in order laughing out loud

D-Double
1 Raekwon - Cuban linx
2 GZA - Liquid Swords
3 Method Man - Tical
4 ODB - N***a Please
5 GZA - Return to the 36 chambers... (I think that's what it's called. His latest album)

Respect to Bobby Digital... Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo... raver

... laughing out loud

Alpha Centauri
Some of Method Man's best verses feature on RZA's solo albums.

Especially N.Y.C Everything off In Stereo. Shame though, because that particular track is possibly the worst produced song ever.

No one else liked Golden Arms?

Liquid Swords in my view is the best by far, it's the darkest Wu-Tang affiliated record, and that's a real achievement. I've always thought GZA is way better than Meth.

Or as RZA says it (or slurs it), Bwawbee Digital. Gotta love that lisp.

Alpha Centauri
Hahahaha. Bwawbee Digital liaahve in effect.

I really love GZA's work but I don't think he's better than Meth. Preference I guess.

I don't like Golden Arms Redemption. I only like a couple songs off it, Shell Shock and Rumble. I was expecting alot from it and it fell way short of expectations for me.

-AC

MF D00m
1. GZA - Liquid Swords
2. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
3. Ghostface Killah - Ironman
4. Ol Dirty Bastard - Return to The 36 Chambers

Gza and Raekwon's albums can be 1a and 1b. I never cared for Meth's albums at all. Especially anything after Tical. Ironman is right behind Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords.

SlipknoT
I only have Nigga Please

Exact opposite for me. U-God has always been one of my Wu favorites, but I had serious doubts to whether he could carry a full album on his own. He suprised me a lot, the second half of the album in particular is great.

"Liquid Swords", if not only for "Labels" takes the cake. Someone should debate Wu side projects. Curious to see how everyone feels about Gravediggaz, Wu Syndicate, etc.

and best Gravediggaz album in my opinion is The Pick, The Sick and THe Shovel

it wasnt as dark as Six Feet Deep, but i just liked it more.

and cant forget LA The Darkman- Heist of the Century.
