For those who do not know what Dinks are it stands for:
Double Income No Kids. So a couple in which both people go out working and have no kids are called Dinks. According to investigations there seem to be more and more Dinks lately.

Personally I wouldn't mind being a Dink, but I know Storm really wants kids so we'll end up having kids. It ain't that I don't like kids or anything. I just don't need to have them.

So what about you?

Echuu
I would like to be a dink; if the wife would want to have kids though I think I will, but I'd rather spend my marriage loving her that having tiny people running everwhere.

But I still like children big grin

PVS
well...i'm single...so does that make me a Sink? stick out tongue

Echuu
^
laughing out loud

Fire
I guess so PVS

I'm right with you Echuu. altho I'm a tad more 50-50

finti
It is too late for me son

mechmoggy
We're a pair of dink's already! big grin

Fire
yea Mechy put planning on staying dinks?

mechmoggy
Mrs.mm's health is a bit tricky at the moment, so errr dunno for now.

Fire
okie sad to hear mechy

Fishy
Part of the reason more and more people like that is because people decide to have children on a much higher age then what wsa normal a few years ago...

Personally iw ouldn't mind being one for the first part of my live, but at one time i would like to hav children

lil bitchiness
Yeah, becoming a DINK sounds like someting Id do eek!

Aw PVS is a SINK...hug

Linkalicious
I know life never really goes how people plan, but ideally I'd like to be a dink for like 5 years before ever having children.

I think it's a good time to enjoy being with your significant other without the interference of children. And it's the best opportunity to begin saving up for the future (houses, cars, children's education.)

I think the world as a whole would be a better place with more dinks. I think it's horrible that teenage parents are thrown into the world of parenting at such an early age. There shouldn't be any teenage parents, unless they are already financially well enough off to raise a child adequately.

finti
it is good to have a steady realtionship before deceiding on haing kids, so being DInks for awhile is actually a good idea, if it doesnt work out at least there aint no kids to suffer because of the breakup

mechmoggy
The Finster is right there; me and Mrs.MM have seen some cool places in the world that we'd never have been able to with a sprog in tow.

Down with kids, up with holidays! big grin

Capt_Fantastic
My mother calls me a dink, but I don't think it has anything to do with being in a relationship or children. She uses it as a cute little insult, like when I would talk to her while she was on the phone or something like that.

PVS
i just keep thinking of the 'dinks' from spaceballs
remember them? stick out tongue

Capt_Fantastic
I do remember them. Suddenly, my mother becomes much more insulting. But, in truth, she didn't pay any attention to what I watched after He-Man.

farnaza
hi all...m new here.....

i wud also planning 4 dinks....well i m still jist 17....bt this DINKS really seems to be practical to me.
but my family specially my grnny is so orthodox....gosh!!!!!
i hope i find a guy who agrees wid me!

n do u think aborting a kid is a sin????
i dont think so! do u?

Imperial_Samura
While I don't see any wee offspring in the near future for myself, I think I might still like some one day. Or maybe a clone.

And when, in the distant future I shuffle off the mortal coil I don't want the Government to get it's hands on my assets. Of course then there is the problem if I don't want my kids to have my assets either. Then I guess it all goes to charity.

Bardock42
Dinks...haha...what a funny word.......Capt Fantastic ...hahaha.....what terrible taste (He-Man).......

I do not intend to answer the question though.......

Spelljammer
I would love to have kids and be a stay at home dad (I don't believe in that whole a woman can do this or a man can do that crap. Innately women are better nouterers and men better workers, but hardwork can accomplish anything..) but unfoutanatly with our economy being the rathole that it is, I and my wife will more then likely be dinks for a long while of our lives..

Especialy if the liberals get thier way and we turn into this psuedo-socialist nation, then my bank is really ****ed..

Alpha Centauri
Well if I end up with a woman who doesn't want children (which I'll have to, because I don't) then of course that's what'll happen.

WHAT! He-Man was the shit! When I was a kid at least. I've watched it since I have grown up(physically) and it is pretty bad. So, I've resolved not to watch either the new OR old series...as it is better to just remember it for what I remember it...not what it actually is.

Alpha Centauri
She-Ra, I believe.

He-Man was the original stoner cartoon.. take a look at the "heroes"..

Mer-Man:
http://wiw.org/~corey/lj/mer-man.gif
What looks to be like a Zola from Legend of Zelda in spandex, which bassicaly it is. His main purpose was to do Skeletor's bidding and run from He-Man. Atleast the Zola did drivebys with fireballs..

Man At Arms:
http://www.interrahost.com/pix/man-at-arms.jpg
This GI Joe reject was a supporting cast member who did absolutely nothing. Sure he has been in the military for years, a veteran soldier who has many battle scars and more stories to tell. Yet he can't take on an annerexic guy with purple drapes over his head without the help of a blonde nazi bimbo.. The Real American Hero..

Orko:
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Zone/4427/orko.gif
Orko made the series midly tolerable. His Advanced Dungeons&Dragons style of spellcasting "chaos magick" made him the worst sidekick ever but in a cool way being tottaly in uncontrol of his powers.. But with his nasal voice, his quite undertones, and his secretive nature, you couldn't help but wonder if maybe he sabatoged his spells on purpose to lead He-Man to his doom.. nanhh.. villains in 80s cartoons weren't that smart..

Ah yes, that sounds about right. Although I think the name She-Man has a kind of classy characterisation lacking from the name She-Ra.

Heheh. The image of Orko looks constipated. And I really wandered about some of the characters. At one point wasn't there a villain who was basically a giant Skunk?

Heheh. Also I also wonder if Man-At-Arms won any awards for his Luke Skywalker impersonation.

I'd love to have a baby..

Clovie, how many times have I said I hate liers?

I think out of all of us, you are one of the least likely to be alone. Personaly I think you're kindof pompus and pricky, but alot of guys seem to think you're a sexy beast. You rival with Lady Luck (whom I also don't like..) so don't go on a pity ride..

I don't get the pompous and pricky part confused (I mean, those words are not to find in my dictionary)

as for Ladyluck. I don't know her. and for sure I don't feel as if I was rivaling with her.

and I didn't mean to make people pity me. I've stated a fact.

oh..and would you be so kind and list my other disadvantages in a PM for a change?

Alpha Centauri
Clovie, I like you but you have really gotta stop calling everyone who compliments you, a liar.

but I already knew what you think.. so why to repeat it here and now? (just curious)

Imperial_Samura
Hehehe. Quite remarkable how compliments are given out on boards sometimes, with overtones of friendly antagonism. Makes me wish I had a forum enemy I could compliment.

And don't worry Clovie, there is no way a worthy person such as yourself could end up a Dink, Sink, Flink or whatever, one day you'll have what you want and that I would stake Spelljammers life on.

EsteemedLeader
I'd only have kids as the donor to some lesbian couple or something. I don't want kids, mainly because I don't like humans, and I'd feel terrible adding to the already high population...
