marik wasn't totally evil...

he gave the staff to yugi/yami!

and he had that other good half that fought against him!

neither have i but my sister says that he's stealing eveyone's souls, including yugi and joey

He's not stealing them. He's having people duel with a card that if they loose their soul gets stolen.
