From the Silmarillion, can Morgoth and his hordes (including Balrogs and Sauron) defeat X-Men in middle earth?

Morgoth was a god before he was put down by the other gods. We're talking probably Skyfather level here. Epic body count, but Morgoth and his hordes roll.
