i woudnt consider zeppelin metal
they are rock
matter of opinion though i suppose

Cinemaddiction
Sabbath and Zeppelin created metal. That's almost a given.

Deathblow
If we were talking about rock singers, I'd go with Keenan, Cornell, Witherspoon, Palumbo, Plant etc, but metal vocalists, that basically means guys who can drive a good heavy metal song along. No clean vocals required. Hence the following:

1. Grady Avenell (Willhaven)
2. Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly)
3. Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
4. Tom Araya (Slayer)
5. Burton Bell (Fear Factory)

Cinemaddiction
For the sake of arguement, replace Robert Plant w/ Burton Bell (Post- SOANM)

Df02
i wasnt sure if i wanted to post on this cos most of the vocalists id choose were hardcore... but Grady woulda definately been on there

Impediment
HMMM..........Maybe I shouldve been more specific. What I meant was vocalist like who can SING harmoniously and melodically, not the metal screamers/growlers. Now MY favorite top 5 metal screamers/growlers are Randy Blythe from Lamb of God, Phil Anselmo from Pantera/Down/Superjoint Ritual, Max Cavalera from Sepultura/Soulfly, Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse/Six feet Under, and Glen Benton from Deicide.

Well if your gonna list GNR as metal then you'l have to have Skid Row in there too, it's the same music, and Sebastian B(Skid Rows singer) is the best singer in that style of music and thats fact, there aint no James Hetfield, or slayer singer or pantera gonna take that from him, Just listen to any of these skid row songs
