I find it interesting that there is absolutely no excitement in that forum for the new trailer, but it was insane here for the Episode III Trailer.

But I do think this will be an interesting battle at the box office...

The return of two major superhero icons...

The Dark Knight vs The Dark Lord,

The Superhero vs The Supervillain,

Batman vs Darth Vader !!!

My money's on Vader, but I'm looking forward to Batman Begins as well.

Batman is gonna suck.

Revenge will kick it's booty out of the box office and force it to go to video real fast.

I'm looking forward to it as well. It looks to be the first good Batman film since Tim Burton's days.

This should be a battle thread.

If the talk stays on Batman too much it does not deserve to be in a forum for a good movie.

Leave it here for a while and then close it if you want. I just wanted everyone that checks this forum and doesn't check the others to be alerted to the new trailer.

Why not? The Batman series really stinks. Don't get me wrong I loved the first 2, but after that...

This one looks terrible. His costume looks even faker than on Val Kilmer, he now has an off-road Batmobile? WTF?

I'll watch the movie, but not until it comes on video, and I'll borrow it from someone. I'm not wasting my money to see it.

Vader's costume rocks!! punk Vader as a whole is much more intimidating.

Vader would just Force Choke Batman, and Robin would look on in horror.

I hate robin! Vader has a much better pupil.

Okay fatal flaws with Batman:

Underwhelming marketing campaign.

Lack of cohesion with Batmans origin...also, the freakin' film lacks a general cohesion. They have two composers for the score for petesakes.

Lastly...The Batmobile...WTF? He has a Bat SUV/TANK/Mobil Nuke Device/Car-Boat/BFG/BLACKSQUAREBOX/"insert here" thingy?

Give me Keaton...

Yeah, Keaton was the best Batman...

And Lance is right, there was no Batman past the first 2. They should have paid Keaton and insane about of money and then we'd still have good Batman flicks.

I think everyone will be surprised with Christian Bale's performance...closer to Dark Knight Batman and has the more physical presence than Keaton (who did a good job imho)...the costume and car are Wayne industry military prototypes...I assume and hope that if the series continues, they modify them to show how he adapts them to his crime fighting...

ROTS will kick it's ass at the box office but I still think BB has potential.

Plus, BB would frickin hotwire Vader and make him squeal like a wheezy Grievous! He's got plans to take out the whole Justice League, including Superman in case they ever turn bad!

I will grant that most people who see the Batman films never read the comics...but a typical scenario would be:

Vader senses a presence in the room but doesn't see Batman
He reaches out with the force and senses an ordinary human..except there is no fear in him
Feeling no threat, he strides to the darkened alcove and force pulls Batman from the ledge where he was observing Vader's movements..
Batman releases his cape which flies across Vader's helmet..
Vader snaps his lightsaber, cleaving the cape in two as Batman, sliding
across the floor, kicks Vader across the back of the knees (and discovers they are not flesh)...
Vader swings his lightsaber in a powerful sweeping arc, slicing through the ears of the mask Batman wears...
Batman, feints left and turns right, tossing smoke grenades and a metal edged batarang which Vader easily slices through on the fly...as Vader turns back to Batman, he is forced to back up as Batman, somersaulting over him, removes the top of Vader's helmet (the German soldier looking part), to gain a pyschological advantage.

Vader lashes out with a ferocious force push which knocks Batman toward the exit door he lined himself up with, having figured out one of Vader's powers...

Batman, exhausted, enters an air duct to plan his next strategy based on what he's learned...Vader, gasping, retrieves his helmet and force strangles the officer in charge of security...

One strange similarity is that they both lose people they love, making them go nuts... only Vader goes all the way.

Also, Vader thinks he is going to bring order to a galaxy, and Batman thinks he is bringing order to a city.

Batman hangs out with an old man he likes as his friend.

Vader hangs out with an old man he hates which is evil.

They both retreat to places of solitude where they don't want to be bothered.

Batman has a car... Vader has a super start destroyer.

Yeah, but the Batmobile hardly compares with Vader's Star Destroyer. Or for that matter all of Wayne Manor dosent even compare. Hell, all of Gotham City cant really compare either...

Well I created this thread back in April... since we have seen both movies now and know how they have faired at the box office, just thought I'd resurrect it for fun!

Batman, was undoubtably for me the better movie. I loved this movie, it was great.

Sith, was undoubtably for me the most important and meaningful movie. I loved this movie more than Batman.

There's a debate going on about this in the Movie Discussions forum... I think Star Wars is winning.

I think Batman is the better film, but Revenge of the Sith definitely means more to me and always will.

Yeah, I think I wrote that before the movie was out... I still like Keaton's Batman, but Bale did a great job too. I liked Bale's Bruce Wayne much more than Keaton's...

I went to see Begins again today. Still brilliant.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but Batman Begins is the movie of the year so far.

With the craptacular looking Fantastic Four and Jurassic Park 4, er, sorry, King Kong, on the horizon, it looks like Batman will still be the best film of 2005.

I'll only watch this movie for Freeman, Neeson and Cane. Unless you guys can CONVINCE me to see it. I dont like the BM series - but since the last two didnt do it justice, it would be a little wrong to rule this one out without seing it
