i was patriotic once upon a time but the events since bush took office and the policys they now follow have caused me to change my mind and ask the question why do i want to be loyal to a country that does not take care of its own people and their ideas of settling diplomatic problems is going to war?

I get really annoyed at americans who love their country too much, i don't know why, it is just something that builds up anger in me

Because it is universal that no one likes egoistical people. You can never build an immunity, even those who boast, hate it when others love their countries to much.
