Midichlorians: quality vs quantity

This is something that makes me wonder....Does the quality of ones midichlorians count......are they all they same....take Obi-wan for example....He was always tuned in to the force better than anyone...he sensed the disturbance in the force before any of the jedi in TPM concerning the sith's return......And Yoda was suppose to have had a higher count than anyone till Annie...And again Obi-Wan in ROTS from a fight scene I viewed equally matched force power with Vader during a force push contest they had...and Annie has the highest count but Obi-Wan I think just had better quality midichlorians to even things up...now somebody elses turn..lol spam_laser starwars
Jedi_KnightAlly
I've never thought about midicholrians (sp) like that before, but u do have a gid point, i'd probably say quality has something to do with it. But hey what do i know lol.
Darth_Janus
Quality or control. Or perhaps there are other factors, like knowledge and willpower.
SithKiller
would be nice if there were hyperspace documents on the issue or something official like that...lol
Darth_Janus
You're asking for proof in the SW universe? Padawan, you have much to learn.
SithKiller
lol

We could just wait a few days see what everyone thinks through the poll then let nefarus write us up a short story about it and we can call that official....lol
Darth_Janus
Amen brutha... lol
Darth_Nefarus
I agree with the idea of control, and willpower. Experience in usage of the force is what allows Obi-Wan to keep up with Anakin. Anakin is farmore powerful, but he is also new to the darkside, and doesn't have the control of say Revan, Maul, etc.
This was a great though man
((The_Anomaly))
i dident know u COULD have better quality ones...
SithKiller
dont know that it has been discussed before...apparently not on this forum guess I could go google for other forum discussions on it see whats already been said..?
Jedi_KnightAlly
That could be intresting, i'l check out wikipedia, its got all sorts of info bout random stuff lol.
SithKiller
didnt really find anything ....tis a fresh subject it appears
Jedi_KnightAlly
Yeah, neither did I, All i can find is the standard "the more the better". Nothing about whether each little midichlorian can be better than other ones.
Ushgarak
Keep it simple. Midichlorians determine your potential. Clearly your actual power is not evidenced by your count, else Anakin would be more powerful than Yoda when they met him.
The degree to which you have fulfilled your potential is a different matter. Obi-Wan may have a lower count than Anakin but he might have unlocked a far larger proportion of that potential.
Darth_Nefarus
http://www.theforce.net/midichlorians/midi-strength.asp
Read everything in that link, it talks about how people like Obi-Wan may be able to train hard enough so that more midichlorians came into his body to compensate for his degree of power and skill. Excellent theories
Wanderer259
That, to me, makes absolute sense. Abilities we're born with are 'talents'. Obviously talented people do it easier or faster, but as a teacher once told me, anyone can draw with enough dedication and practice. It makes absolute sense that Anakin would have a greater talent for Force power, but someone like Obi-Wan, who doesn't have as much talent, is still capable of more because of his dedication, skill, and knowledge.
I like that idea.
SithKiller
followed the link and read....and Ush said keep it simple HA!
Darth_Nefarus
Yeah it's all about gifts vs. skills.
Obi-Wans skills were enough to defeat Anakins incredible gifts, that day and setting
SithKiller
Kick Butt sig Wanderer! simple but sweet!

Midichlorians is the greatest bullshit anyway....just think aboot it....if lets say Obi Wan has half the Midi Chlorians has that Yoda h's still double the size of him....so really WTF

SithKiller
jawdrop good point...maybe? what if yoda's cells are smaller though is that possible?...he may have as many or more cells for the midichlorians to reside in than someone twice his size...you got my drunk azz thinkin now...lol....confused
Fishy
Cells are very small, size has nothing to do with it..
Its just the potential you have nothing more nothing less... It doesn't make you all powerful if you have a lot of them, it just gives you a lot of potential
SithKiller
huh.....lol....okay what he said I guess...beer

It is silly to call it BS for that reason when you don't know what the count is. It might be the count PER cell.
Darth_Nefarus
I'm pretty sure it is the count per cell. for those who haven't you should read the link I posted, it's well thought out and much of it is true IMHO
Darth_Glentract
If it is the count per cell wouldn't every Jedi try to get as fat as possibly.
Anakin: "I have over twenty thousand midi-clorains per cell!"
Strange fat guy walks over.
SFG: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Anakin: "Whats so funny?"
SFG: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Anakin: "TELL ME NOW OR I WILL USE THE FORCE TO BLOW YOU UP!"
SFG: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Anajin: "Thats it."
Anakin pulls out his lightsaber and attemps to stab the fat guy. The fat guy uses the force and uses ten lightsaber(much like Kreia) and blocks them with ease.
Anakin: "How did you do that?"
SFG: "I may only have 3000 midi-clorians per cell, but I weight over fifty times as much as you."
Ushgarak
Err, no... because that wouldn't make any difference... it would mean the final quantity is irrelevant, ONLY the amount per cell would mean anything. You could be Jabba thr Hutt sized, but if your count per cell is the same as someone as small as Yoda, your potential is the same.
SithKiller
True enough! Then the key is to breed Anakin with some creature that has very large cells so the offspring will have more room in its cells to hold more midichlorians....lol....I mean Im sure annies cells gotta be outta room...lol....each of his cells has a little light hanging that says..."NO VACANCY" er something like that...lol
Kun-ni Habeo
quality always

Gah- that would just throw off the result.
Look, there is nothingmagic about midi-chlorians that means having more of them makes you more powerful, else people would inject themselves fuil of them all the time. They are a symptom of how much power you hold. The potential comes first, the midi-chlorians then arrive to create the symbiotic link.
So it does not matter how fat, tall, strong or big-celled you are. You potential is your potential- and the way to measure that is to make a midi-chlorian count- whatever the logic it works on.
Darth_Janus
Ush, you're really just saying that because you're short and thin, aren't you? lol
Ushgarak
No...
(runs away to practice inadequate force skills)

Hmm well you are of course right....doesn't change the facts that Midi-Chlorians are Bullshit....well I at least don't like them I used to like the field idea that Yoda and Obi Wan talked aboot in the OT.

Darth_Nefarus
I don't think it's BS, it just shows how intelligent the Jedi were in the PT
Darth_Janus
I knew Ush had a sense of humor. Just been waiting to see it.
Darth Revan33
I agree 100% with Ushgarak and that you can't gain any midichlorians. You might be able to lose them when you lose an arm though, I don't know.
