acting

I really want to become an actress. Does anyone have some advice or anything?

I know how you feel...just not sure if this is the right forum to post it!
I wouldn't know actually, that's why I don't post cause I'm never sure, but I'm glad someone else wants to do what I want to do, that is sooo cool. I also need some advice thought.

How old are you hun? Cos If your young, I'd say do Drama GCSE and maybe Dance or Music as well if you can, then either got to a drama college, or do a Performing Arts course, or do Drama, Music, Dance A level. Definitely get involved in Amateur Dramatics, its all excellent practise. Start working on your drama skills, like projection, enunciation etc. Start thinking your way inside a character. Learn some monologues. Go and see plays wherever and whenver you can, and think about them CRITICALLY ((the same applies to tv and films)). Which actors were good/bad and why? How would you do it better? Think about WHY you would do someting, what effect it would have. how does one line said in different ways change its meaning?

I know that all looks really complicated, but you can PM me if you want. I really wanted to be an actress. One thing you have to remeember is that ACTING IS UNFAIR. Hardly anyone makes it. You have to look right, move right... actual talent is one of the last things that is brought into considertaion when casting. I had to give up on my acting dreams because I was too tall and chunky, there was no way I could ever get enough parts to support myself, I'd only get very specific parts. Work hard and try to realise your dream, but you must also realise that there is a good chance that you will not make it, and that its not the end of the world if you don't

Anyways... Just .talk to everyone! I'm involved in drama and tech at school, I volenteer for our community theatre program and am in a program for our Broadway plays company(where the big broadway plays come to preform). It helps to know ppl, because they also know ppl... just be involved, get what I mean????

and to Pheniox... If you really love acting dont give up on it. yes it IS a hard thing to get into, you could have 1 job in a year or 6.... if you want to be an actor you CANT just do that... you NEED another job, something very flexible, like a waitress....

id lov to be an actress also ... but im french ... u cant be a good actress if yur in france crybaby lol

As LonDon said, this should really be in the off topic forum. But if you want some advice, here it is -

TAKE WHATEVER OPERTUNITY IS THROWN AT YOU! If you have a good feeling about something, go for it. If you have a bad feeling about something, don't go for it. So, if you can just grab at whatever is out there, you should eventually be noticed 🙂

well you have some competition on heresly! Advice that some have given me...Never give up, no matter how many auditions or scripts you've read...if it's meant to b it'll happen, but it takes time. Hope that waz helpful and wish u well hope WE BECOME SUCCESSFUL ACTRESSES!smile1
