Kudos to whoever said Pink Floyd. I don't agree with Zeppelin just because of the whole originality issues (same reason I don't pick Clapton).

I'd say Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Allman Brothers, The Who when it comes to classic rock (and the beatles if you want to put them in classic rock, though i think they are more pop...and in a class of their own anyways)

For punk, i'd go Minor Threat, The Replacements, Husker Du, Dinosaur Jr.

Blues rock, i'd say Stevie Ray Vaughan; I think he did it better than anyone but Hendrix, (Clapton and Zeppelin included).

For rock and roll music, I'd go with Chuck Berry. How can you argue with Chuck Berry? The man basically invented rock and roll - and did it better than Elvis did.

Dot worry about it EB, the creartor of this evil was banned for being a bit thick.

Well while some of the bands are indeed horrible, you might wanna note that the thread maker was asking who people's favourite band/s is/are.

So whether you "agree" with someone having Zeppelin as there favourite or not, I don't think it matters.

The Smiths are my favourite that is for sure......don't know if they are considered good or bad but I love aboot every song they made...that I know of.....

Queensryche. Amazing, thought-provoking music - slightly operatic with a hint of metal. I can't think of any male, rock voice that can hit notes like Geoff Tate - except maybe Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford (but that's another discussion for another day)...
