Who likes them? I think they are unique.

"Feel Good Inc." is an good song.

Alpha Centauri
Quite like em.

Lana
Oh....memories....laughing when I was 15 I was in the play at school and before the one performance we locked ourselves in the guys dressing room with a boombox and strobe light and we were all dancing (in costume) to Gorillaz.

Yeah, I like them big grin

Deathblow
Bumped in honor of the new album.

Which is superb! Much better than the first one I think. I thought the huge amount of guest performances would drag it down, but it's quite the opposite. I listened to it all the way through on my headphones last night, and I loved every second. Bootie Brown and MF Doom's guest tracks are excellent, and Dare (which gets my bet for next single) is the best piece of dance music I've heard since Fluke's Another Kind Of Blues. And as for Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head, it's the best thing Dennis Hopper's been involved with since True Romance! Not a single track I don't like, and a good 5 or 6 that I love, already.

I only got it yesterday, but for me it's already worthy of at least an 8/10.

I think they are really good, I don't know why they are different, and since I play bass, the bass part in feel good inc is simple but funky

...think it could perhaps have something to do with the fact that the band appear only as cartoon monkeys?

Afro Cheese
People were talking about Gorillaz in my class yesterday. It was cool, cause these are the same people who like Nelly and 50 Cent, so it was a nice breath of fresh air to hear people mention a band I like. I think them being on that iPod commercial is getting them more recognition.

Deathblow
That's true, but it would be unfair to say that they haven't had a lot of recognition before. Back when their first album was released, they had two original singles and two remixed singles get a lot of airplay. It is good they're getting more exposure this time round as well though, like you said, it's going to be great having all these Nelly and 50 Cent followers listening to MF Doom and Roots Manuva. They might make a few conversions.

Afro Cheese
Yeah they got recognition before on a wide scale but not so much in my school, and especially not among rap fans. People around here have unusually horrendous taste in music.

That's why I was so suprised to hear a group that works with a lot of underground hip hop getting talked about, cause aside from rock fans, nobody here really likes anything that doesn't get played on tv, aside from a couple local acts.

Ultimatespider
The Gorillaz are Excellent!!! 2morrow comes today is an excellent song i avnt heard Feel Good inc. Yet.

Dr. Strangelove
Gorillaz are on an I-Pod commercial?

It's always nice to see a good band get some recognition along with other mainstream artists especially the Gorillaz who have been one of my favorite bands since I first heard "Clint Eastwood" four years ago. Hopefully, more people will try out MF Doom's stuff with his guest appearance on the album.

Shall be picking up the album later tonight.

Deathblow
Cool, tell us what you think when you get it thumb up

Oh I see. Well, on the upside, if you're anything like me, you'll have a permanent sense of superiority when you're at school.

Yeah, I reckon it's part of the group's plan, giving Del, The Automator, Doom etc a massive amount of brief exposure to encourage people who like what they hear to go looking for alternative music. If so, all the more reason to admire the Gorillaz.

punkkaveman
i hope im gettin it 2morrow even tho i got a bootlegged copy from months ago i gotta get the real one.

Morpheus
raver THIS one is going to be good. raver

hh?
i really liked the album.

Doom= shits on all.

Dr. Strangelove
Loved it. It's really cool to see the Gorillaz mature as production wise DD is head and shoulders above their self titled. All of the guest appearances were good especially Doom (which I must admit, I yelped a fangirl scream when November Has Come came on as Gorillaz and Doom is just a dream collabo if there ever was onedroolio). I had my doubts about the Dennis Hopper appearance, but it came out well. I only had one little problem with one song which I can't remember at this moment but will come back to me after I listen to Demon Days again.

Overall, Demon Days met and exceeded my expectations which were very high to begin with. I give it a 9/10 on the first listen.

Haha...I do wonder how the masses at my college can think Lil Jon and 50 cent are good.

Yeah, on the Gorillaz website (which is the greatest band website ever) they have a link to Blackalicious's site so The Gorillaz are certainly pimping underground hip hop. thumb up

Libertine
I loved when i was reading through this that everyone kept saying THEY all of the time when there's only one person in the band (Damon Albarn) and the others are just various people playing bass or something on one track then maybe someone else on another.
The collabarations are good but you cant beat Damons vocals. big grin

tomsgurlz
Got 2 say feel good inc. has defintelly topped my new fave song... Feel Good HA HA Ha

punkkaveman
I give the album 9.9/10 and the only reason I don't give it a ten is because I believe nothing is perfect except for my girlfriend. lol

Dr. Strangelove
The best track for me was El Manana as it was hauntingly beautiful beyond words especially when the strings come in.

I didn't like the part in Dare when Shaun Ryder came in about the 2:30 mark to sing with Rosie Wilson which got in the way as Rosie's voice was fine on its own. I am being picky as Dare is still very good, but I felt it did hurt the song somewhat.

Has anybody listened to the extra tracks on the Bonus DVD? Both The Swagga and Happy Landfill were good and could've been on the album.

Deathblow
That's hardly enough to ruin the song, in fact I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. Dare is the perfect single, it sounds like a long-lost Underworld track. Anyway, it's not about the vocals at all, it's a fun party song, and Shaun's the perfect man for that. That's definitely my favorite song, along with Dirty Harry and Demon Days (even though it's a rip-off of Blue Sky by Fluke).

Wolf Dog
El Manana = ****in so much soul.

Wolf Dog
you guy gotta hear Reject False Icons.

It didn't ruin the song for me but it did get in the way somewhat. It's my only complaint with the album and it really is a minor one as Dare is still an awesome song.

El Manana is my favorite followed by Kids with Guns, Dirty Harry and November Has Come. Fire Coming Out of the Monkeys Head is growing on me as is White Light.

Darth Travizzle
Ya, in fact I'm listening to them right now. I like every song on the CD "Demon Day" excpet for El Manana and Demon Days. I listen to it ALL the time when I'm on the computer.

Darth Travizzle
My fav songs from that CD are (in no particular order): Dare, Last Living Souls, Kids With Guns, Feel Good Inc., November Has Come, White Light, Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head, And All Alone. I like all the songs on the CD, but those are my favorite. Although I pretty much named the whole CD.....

Freaky Zeeky

Ya, I play bass too. Which string do you play that song on? I know the tabs, and on the tabs I got, it says to play it on the last string, but it doesn't sound quite right...

Freaky Zeeky
I also like Clint Eastwood.
smile

Alpha Centauri
Damon Albarn isn't the best person in the collaboration, for those thinking he is.

Good singer though.

-AC

Freaky Zeeky
Who is he?

Alpha Centauri
Damon Albarn?

That would be the lead singer of Gorillaz, also Blur.

-AC

Freaky Zeeky
oh

Libertine
I explained all of that at the begining of the last page.

*Georgina_A*
I like Gorillaz...Would like to get their new album soon.

Absolutely love Damon Albarn.

Libertine
Yeah Damon is fit... *drools*

i was gonna buy the cd today with my best buy gift cards, but i got the new common one instead.

Freaky Zeeky
The new Common cd?

Deathblow
I got both a while ago, and the Gorillaz album is way better than the Common album imo erm

Freaky Zeeky
Even though I don't have both of their CD's I'm betting Common's CD is more promising IMO. smile

Deathblow
Whatcha mean ''more promising''?

The Gorillaz album is better because it's genre-breaking, versatile and fluid, definitely better than their first, and Common's album isn't even his best.

IMO, Feel Good Inc video is better

Lana
I love Gorillaz, I've been listening to them a lot lately (am right now).

I think my favorite songs on Demon Days are Feel Good Inc. and Dirty Harry.

Wolf Dog
Anyone know what their next single is going to be? I think it's going to be either El Manana or Last Living Souls since so far, they're following the same pattern as the last album: A rap song, dance song, then a mellow one.

Cinemaddiction
Question. I know you can't really contain Gorillaz in any one genre, but given the collaborators, are they considered "hip-hop" by any means?

Inspectah Deck
When they did that song with Doom, then yes yes

Neo_Version 7
Gorillaz are the shit! yes

Deathblow
Can't believe they've released both of my favorite DD songs now disgust

Dr. Strangelove
Now only if they'll make "Fire Coming out of the Monkey's Head" as their fourth single, one of your favorite actors will be overexposed. stick out tongue

Doubt that'll happen though.

Rocker2005
They've Just realsed Dirty Harry and theyr'e Next single is El Manana but Last Living Souls Gets my bet for NEXT single wink

WindDancer
Finally I bought me a copy of the album (with DVD included) and I like it. That Dirty Harry track keeps playing on my mind again and again. stick out tongue

Rocker2005
Gorillaz are the best man....well...not THE best.

cindy8219
the common cd is good but not as good as the Gorillaz.

Am I the only one who likes 'Kids with Guns'?

LizzyT123
I like Kids with Guns! I pretty much like all the songs on Demon Days, cept for a couple.

StinkFist462
i never did like Dirty Harry or All Alone

Phat J
del isnt in the actual group is he? just that one song?

Deathblow
Two songs, he was on ''Clint Eastwood'' and ''Rock The House'' on the s/t CD.

And no, the only fixed members of the group are Damon Albarn and the artist guy, Jamie something I think his name is.

Alpha Centauri
Jamie Hewlett.

Also did artwork for an MSI album. The man is really smart.

-AC

LizzyT123
I didn't like that one November song...I forgot what its called.

I really liked their old CD too, Rock the House was awesome, but I didn't like Starshine, I think thats what its called, it was pretty lame imo

GCG
laughing out loud you posted more of what you dont like rather than what you do.

Deathblow

19-2000. The album version is good, the horrible remix that somehow got more exposure than the original is beyond lame.

LizzyT123
oh, I liked 19-2000. I can't think of that one song though, arg!!! Maybe it was called Mic Check...I used to have the cd, but my brother borrowed it....for about 2 years....

Their videos are up there with The White Stripes vids.
