I kinda got the impression this has nothing to do with Romero.. is it just a film using nearly the same name to get more publicity?

Yeah youre right, there is also another zombie film that has nothing to do with romero called City of the Living Dead.

There are a few "..of the _____ Dead" films. "Dawn of the Living dead" was an alternate title for "Dawn of the Dead". Anyway, IMDB.com has no entires for this particular movie.

i saw it in blockbuster yesterday , looks awful, really low budget.

IMDB. Does have an entry for this film, but its under "Curse of the Maya". Ouch 2.6 out of 10 but considering its only 8 votes that doesnt' seem to bad. Theres also an official website as well and the still don't look to bad.
