No, because Yoda lived to be a 900 year old Jedi and that means he has to have a lot of experience. So unless Luke became plder than Yoda, you might have something there, but he didn't

if luke had proper jedi training and had been taken in when he was a baby then yes, i do believe he could best yoda in combat, but in the OT yoda could take luke down easily.

The whole Midicholorian thing is a bunch of bulls***. It was Lucas' way of fitting in a GIANT plot hole with the whole "Chosen one" thing.

He took the force from something mythical and amazing in the OT and turned it into a science. Way to go!

The truth is that Luke DOESN'T have a midi count because they don't exist then. Alas, how it should be.

With that said, I believe Luke could have been more powerful than Yoda if he had the proper training. (I'm not an EU guy by any means but doesn't he become almost godlike in the extended universe?)

I think Luke would need to be trained by Yoda to defeat Yoda in combat cause to beat ones enimey you must learn how they think and fight.

Like count Dokoo movie II clonewars Yoda vs Dokoo he cheated stupid he use force pull to try and distract yoda to help Ani and Obi and he runs away like palps and their scared of a mini green dude lol but Dokoo put up more of a fight than palps in my oppion.

You said earlier the reason the dark side is destroyed in Episode 9 is so the saga is complete, but I don't see the problem with leaving it open. Of course new villains arise and the battle between dark and light will be never ending I think because it is human nature.

George Lucas: Well, in your vision perhaps the struggle between good and evil personified by the light and dark side persists for eternity. However, I wanted to bring a permanent end to the Sith and the only way to do this is to get rid of the dark side. Since Luke Skywalker is the most powerful Jedi ever, it is only natural for him to be the one to destroy the dark side. Evil people do exist after Episode 9, but they are not able to rely on the dark side to accomplish their evil schemes. Episodes 10 to 12 focus on a new type of villain.

Could you explain your proclivity towards fart and burp humor in some of this new Star Wars material?

George Lucas: The Phantom Menace is the only Star Wars film to feature a fart joke and somebody stepping in Bantha fodder. Considering that The Phantom Menace is the most successful Star Wars film at the box office, you would have to admit that most fans found this scatological humor to be quite ingenious.

Hello Mr. Lucas. I just want to say thanks for spending the time on answering all of the fans questions. I also have a few questions that only you or S.S. can answer. First in Revenge of the Sith what kind of blasters will the clone troopers use the ones from Episode 2 or the ones from the original trilogy? Secondly in Episode 5 on cloud city who was it who blasted C-3PO in that room?

Thirdly what do you think about the idea of having a predator alien in the next trilogy? My final question is in Episode 8 there are gong to be Mandalorians. I thought they were almost all, but extinct after the first Mandalorian war that happened 4,000 years prior to the films. I thought that Jango Fett was the last of them. Or are these just guys that just call themselves Mandalorians? Thanks for your time keep up the good work!

We never see Luke at his full potential in the movies. Based on the books I've read, and the fact that midichlorians are real I'd say Luke eventually bests Yoda.
You can argue that Yoda was older wiser, blah blah blah blah friggin blah, but right under Yoda's nose a Sith Lord took over the galaxy and converted the Messiah of the Jedi Order.
