Daron most certainly does not sing better than Serj. They have very different vocal styles, but that doesn't make either less talented than the other.

its depressing when a calculable percentage of a forum doesn't have an actual opinion on music, they just judge bands by sex appeal...

and what makes it worse is that most of the people they drool over aren't even that attractive..

for example:
Gerard Way - looks like a half dead crackwhore half the time and a shoddy transexual the other half.
Davey Havok - not only is he straightedge, but also looks remarkably like the makeup wearing bisexual he actually is... add grease to that and you've got a terrible concoction
Bert McCracken - i've said it before and i'll say it again... parents only name ugly kids Bert

From a strictly singing standpoint, I'd have to go with either Chris Cornell, Maynard, or Mike Akerfeldt.

From an overall frontman standpoint, Mike owns everyone.

Kumar
i would have to say:

Tom Delong - Blink 182 (because of his hilarious disregard for what is "socially acceptable"wink

Burt McKraken - The Used (he's just crazy)

M. Shadows - Avenged Sevenfold (he is just awesome)

SnakeEyes
Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy)- His singing style is very unique/original
M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold)- His has a very dark/awesome voice that is just as good live.
Tom Delonge (blink 182)- Also a unique voice, even if it is somewhat screechy. He is also hilarious.
Kenny Vasoli (The Starting Line)- Basically I give him props for going all out when he sings live... Because he puts a lot of energy into it and he looks like he is about to explode...

Robert Plant, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, and that guy from The Who, is it Keith Moon?

Is a chronic dislike of Reznor for releasing one mediocre album and being a remix whore really justified? I don't particularly appreciate all the "selling-out" either, but he has some damn good albums under his belt.

I can agree easy with any dislike of Trent Reznor. Seriously, that guy needs a good stabbing. He's put out some quality tunes, but that dude has issues (especially his love of remixing).

Darth Revan
Fair enough, but what I'm really asking AC is, why can he all of a sudden not stand Trent Reznor... He's always been a remix whore.

Red Superfly
Cobain - Nirvana
Ian Brown - Stone Roses
Morrison - Doors
Mercury - Queen
Jack White - White Stripes
Josh Homme - Queens Of The Stone Age
Ozzy Osbourne - Sabbath
Robert Plant - Zeppelin
Billie Joe Armstrong - Green Day

These are votes based off of talent and charisma, mostly. You could probably argue some unlisted singers and front-persons who have more talent, but they likely have all the charisma and intrigue of a wet cabbage. That's why I hold Billie Joe in such high regard. Not the best singer ever, but a superb frontman and live act.

One thing to note is that his music isn't nearly as good as it used to be. It's still good by all means, but it's degraded.

Besides that, some people don't mind remixing at first. Hell, I loved Amotion when it came out with all those cool remixed A Perfect Circle songs. But imagine if they kept doing that. It would get annoying really quick. This goes the same for Mr. Reznor. I actually liked some of his old remix stuff. Now it's really worn off on me.

Well... Obviously With Teeth isn't as good as stuff he's done in the past, but I don't think it sucks or anything.

Honestly, I just don't care for it that much. In reality, I'm not much of an NIN fan either.

When I want industrial stuff, I'll go with bands such as KMFDM, Rammstein, and Ministry.

Darth Revan
Right... And I respect that, but my question was really for AC, who is/was/maybe still is a NIN fan.

Alpha Centauri
Well when you pride yourself on building a fanbase who, for the most part, adhere to the stereotype of "outcast" (for better or worse), build a rep of being some pillar of integrity who hates network television and mediocrity, I expect you to stick to that.

So when you then turn around and say that your best album is a regret because it bombed financially, then after 6 years release an album of b-side quality for the purposes of accessibility whilst also performing on a UK pop-show (pop network TV) you're a sell out.

When you are spending time dissing Walmart for not having any moral consistency and then turning round and do the exact same thing, you're a hypocrite.

You wanna still respect the man who no longer respects those who respected him? Go for it.

-AC

Darth Revan
Fair enough. Honestly, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to what he says/does outside the music, so I wouldn't know anyways.

Alpha Centauri
If he's gonna be a hypocrite and prove that I can't take what he says honestly, how can I be sure anything he does from now on is honest?

That's the price he pays. Not sure he cares though. He's still got mountains of NINies who will never admit it or leave his side, plus many more from his overexposure.

With regards to music, I understand he was trying to get clean but when it takes you 6 years to produce an album, I do expect something a little better than With Teeth, considering the last thing he showed us was The Fragile. He probably could have if he didn't make it his aim to get money.
