Hey you guys. Which Harry Potter movie do you think had the best special effects yet? I, for one, think it was PoA.

Lord_Andres
I really dont know, but I saw a clip of one of them yesterday, it was a scence where a warewolf was eating somebody but then Harry came along and the weawolf left of, and it was CRAPY I mean really really bad special effects, hell the Wherewolf in American Werewolf in Paris was better done, laughing out loud and its fu(kin true!

harry_lover_1
It wasn't eating anyone. But, yeah. Anyway, The new director really put some crappy effects into the PoA. It was all unrealistic. But, whenever Lupin is changing into the wearwolf. That's cool. Just not when he's attacking. SS didn't really have any. CoS had a few. I want to see what's in the HBP.

NightCrawler341
Does the movie already have to be out? I mean, I saw a trailer of the fourth movie (and I bet you all have too) and I think that that small trailer had better special effects that all three of the others. stick out tongue

hotsauce6548
^^Agreed.

harry_lover_1
I couldn't really wait. But then, it would give them more time to make the effects BETTER if you know what I mean... But, this one actually looks watchable. We'll see in November!

epicadventure
HP4 is going to be awesome. I am sooooo excited. I'm glad HBP is coming out in like 3 weeks- makes it easier to wait for the next movie with a book to be excited about!

I thought the effects in PoA were pretty good- I didn't like the werewolf look, all bald and hairless. I think the director, Alfonso Cueron, messed up a lot of stuff with that movie m(except the time-turner bit, which was pretty decent). I loved the look of the first two, and thought Chris Colombus did a much better job bringing the books and the Potterverse to life.

NightCrawler341
Movie three, I heard someone say this and ate the time it made since, now I can't remember why it did, is more like a movie, and shows how much darker Harry's life is becoming.

harry_lover_1
I can't wait for the 6th book to come out either!!! Anyway, the wearwolf was unrealistic. But what about Buckbeak???!!! It looked just as I had pictured it, except better!

weegie
Buckbeak looked fake and unrealistic. To be honest POA was a let down.

harry_lover_1
Buckbeak was better than the wearwolf.

NightCrawler341
^^^ Agreed.

harry_lover_1
What was the ultimate best effect all in all? And what about Dobby? Give him credit, he was better than Buckbeak or the wearwolf. OOOO, and the dementors, what about those?

NightCrawler341
The dementors were a bunch of fat people flying around in robes. xD No, seriously, I don't think the dementors were all computerized, but were good. As for Dobby, I think he is the best so far. He looks most relistic(sp?).

harry_lover_1
Exactly. See, for filming they actually had to use a orange ball on a stick jumping around for Daniel to keep his eyes on to fill in for the computerized Dobby. Then when they were done with the Dobby scenes, they put the computerized one in replacing the ball on video to make it look like he was. Dementors really freaked me out. I thought they were awsome. But I remember me thinking they looked gray in one of the previews I saw at school online before the movie came out.

i think that the POA movie was a little different bcuz they had a different director and a new dumbledore. Y did they get a new director? I also think that the OOP movie will be kind of dumb bcuz it sed in the book that u only see the animals pull the cart when u have seen death, but in the first movie, he saw Quirrel die. This means that he would've seen them pull the carts in POA.

NightCrawler341
He didn't see Quirrel die. He passed out before that, didn't he?

zac_j
not in the movie. In the movie, he saw quirrel die, because he fell apart. In the book, it said he passed out and dumbledore came to the rescue.

NightCrawler341
So there, don't listen to the movies. Follow the books.

NightCrawler341
Now, I wanna see how they will make Malfoy into a ferret(sp?). That will be most interesting.

zac_j
umm... they might get a real ferret, computer generate it, or skip the scene completely. options are open.

ThePhantomsKiss
Well... I watched the preview for Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire plus I read the book,I think they will have to work alot on it with the effects because they have alot of things to pull off to suit the fans =/

Zack, listen, Quirrel didn't exactly die "die". Do you know what I mean? He kinda faded. It's hard to explain.

Good job catching onto that though, I would've never caught on.
