Hello all,
Ever wondered what happened to Sheriff JW Pepper {from "LALD" and "TMWTGG"}? Well, I just may have the answer for ya ...
I was just watching "Superman II", and noticed something interesting - Clifton James {the actor who plays Pepper} is in it. Here's what's weird - in the film, he plays ... the loudmouthed, redneck sheriff of a rural American town! He even drives a similar police car to Pepper! And what's more, the sheriff is never even named in the either the film, or {to my knowledge} the end credits! Were the competitive "Superman" producers making a sly wink to the Bond series' diminishing quality {which was on "for your eyes only" when this was made around 1980} by including the ever annoying JW Pepper in their movie???
I had honestly never noticed this before; and so I watched, transfixed, hoping and praying that the evil General Zod of Krypton {or one of his two superpowered associates} would crush the puny sheriff into dust. Or perhaps melt him with his laser eyes? Or perhaps freeze him with his ice breath? I was literally glued to my seat {as you can probably tell, I'm certainly no fan of good ol' Jay Dubya Peppah}. But sadly, to my immmense disappointment, the sheriff didn't even get a scratch on him as he watched the carnage going on around him.
Has anyone else ever noticed this bizarre "cameo"?
