During the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos had to pretty much battle a truncated group of heroes and cosmic beings. What if all the cosmics and armies of the universe went into battle against Thanos? Keeping in mind that he was affected by Order and Chaos. He was being manipulated by Love and Hate. And had a pretty huge battle against Eternity. How would Thanos have fared if the four big abstracts - Eternity, Infinity, Death and Oblivion were present at the same time? Along with the four complete Celestial hosts, the entire race of Watchers, Galactus, The Stranger, Eon, Chronos, The Strarbrand, Captain Universe, Cosmic Cube beings, all the Elders of the Universe, the Skyfathers with their armies, the Vishanti, Dormammu, the Shi Ar Empire, the Kree and Skrull armadas, all Eternals, Inhumans and Earth's heroes led by Adam Warlock. Would Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet have won against them?

I'm pretty sure the battle with all the abstracts happend. I want to say the Celestials were there too but I don't remember. Thanos won too. Eternity was begging the Living Tribunal to interfear and the LT pretty much said it was Darwinism. Survival of the strongest. He didn't intervene and Thanos took over the Universe.

Yes, a battle with the abstracts happened but it wasn't a complete set of cosmic beings... Infinity and Oblivion were absent, there were only two Celestials (instead of about 50), no Watchers, no Elders, no Skyfathers... etc.

They'd keep him down for a while like when the abstracts held an in experienced Nebula w/ IG down. Eventually, he'll get the better of them and stomp them all.

K Von Doom...

it wouldn't matter if it were the complete set of abstracts...the entire point was that they could not do anything to thanos. LT is the only one who possibly could have...but that would just ruin the story. THe entire point of the story was that Thanos obtained a power so great that only he could bring failure upon himself.

Thanos would still wins regardless of the numbers. Warlock (using Silver Surfer if only it was successful) and Mephisto (pre-Infinity Gauntlet series when he tried to steal it during Thanos' first "feel" of the whole universe experimentation) had the right idea in having him distracted to remove the Gauntlet from his hand.

Wasn't Uatu the Watcher also attacking Thanos ?

Nope, The Watcher stood by and declared the end of the universe after Thanos thomped Eternity.

The two Celestials were pretty powerful. They drafted 1000 worlds as energy sources and Thanos just blasted them all into oblivion.

It didn't matter how many abstract beings were present, Thanos was romping. It was his folly(leaving his physical body and allowing Nebula to take the IG off his hand) that lead to his demise.
