Not many can catch his shield. He was amazed when Hulk could catch it in midflight. Gambit's not going to catch it, whether it be on a rebound or not. I'm giving Captain America the advantage.

Gambit at full Potential wouldnt need to touch the shiled to charge it. Now, normal old gambit...yeah he'd get his butt whooped.
