Some people stuff their beloved pets after death to keep their memory 'alive'.

Hmmm, I see no problem with taxidermy, as long as its not a pointless exercise, like simply stuffing that endangered lion that was just poached from some reserve. However for educational purposes, like museums and such, or even those people who have the family pet stuffed (though I find this a bit freaky) for sentimental reasons I accept.

Heh, and of course there are those historic instances like where a Persian king stuffed the body of a Roman Emperor he had defeated. Ah, good times.

Hmmm, while I think it can have educational, preservative value, I fear I fail to see the funny side. But eh, I guess my sense of humor is above (or below) the humorous styling's of taxidermists.

Although if I was a Persian king I think I know of one person I would have stuffed and mounted on a wall somewhere (somewhere I wouldn't see of course)

I think its sick making tests on any animal so matter how big or small the test is.

Interesting, if somewhat macabre, I don't know if I would have seen one of his displays, but still, humans are animals two, why should we be exempt from stuffing...

I have absolutely nothing against taxidermy as a whole. Sure, if i had a dog i wouldn't stuff if after it died and put it on display (like a guy i know did to his cat). As mfor animal testing, if everybody was as "moral" as you are DenKi we'd still be in the dark ages

Yes killing for sport is totally wrong.The human race is full of a bunch of savage and mindless people who killing to them,animals or people,is nothing to them though,they see no more wrong in it than us stepping on an ant.But this is a savage and barbaric world we live in.

if you kill an animal while hunting, and you eat it for food, then i dont have a problem

't really bother me out of compassion...it bothers me because it could happen to me too.......

I love stuffed animals, with the exception of course if they are not poached or shot just for stuffing them.

Animals kill eachother...humans are animals...we have better ways of killing animals the animals have...

Strongest survive.

Animal is dead, stuff it, eat it, I don't care.

And then of course their is the conundrum of just stuffed animals, like teddy bears and the like. And that I am morally opposed to. Well, not really hehe.

haha you are funny...calling someone "Raised by Nazis" doesn't make you right in an arguement...you know that?

Anyways how is killing for sport wrong? There is no moral that forbids it, since there are no morals......if you want to kill an animal, torture an animal whatever I don't care (you will have to life with the consequenzes though because our society doesn't want that to hapen ....for selfish reasons but that is a whole different matter). Even if you kill someone I don't know I don't care at all, why should I its some person I don't know it doesn't affect me a bit (if I can be sure you won't do that to me or someone I care for) .... agaien society in general punishs people that kill others because the people in society don't want to be killed and therefore don't want people around that could kill them....but morally there is nothing wrong with it (if you define morals as aomething above human values as something ultimatively true, if you say morals are what society labels as morals thats a different thing....)

taxidermy is now proving useful in the fact that many species which have become extinct now only have obtainable DNA through taxidermy collections and any chance of reintroducing these species in the future with use of advance biotechnology techniques will rely on the old art of taxidermy as the place to obtain the DNA needed

so i totally agree with taxidermy as it was used historically...

i dont think it is reall all that neccessary in a scientific sense nowadays as there are many other ways to store records of species
