The Valley was located near the site of the Battle of Ruusan. There, Lord Kaan of the Sith Order unleashed a thought bomb on Lord Hoth. Jedi Johun Othone, against the will of the Jedi Council, built a monument to the heroes of the Army of Light and Lord Hoth, with a mausoleum adorned with massive statues. He also placed a huge Adegan crystal in a meditative chamber for the Jedi. The monuments were made by stones that came from various planets, like the heroes of the Army of Light. It is believed that the spirits of the Jedi were trapped and the Bounces of Ruusan, said that they would be freed when a Knight returned to destroy the natural balance. Because of the monument's 'illegality', the Jedi Council forgot about the Valley which eventually became legendary.

The Jedi Rahn believed that the Galactic Empire or the Dark Jedi would try to get advantage of the power trapped in the Valley and tried to keep its existence safe, until his friend, Morgan Katarn discovered its location. They both were murdered by Dark Jedi Jerec who was after it for himself. Kyle Katarn, Morgan's son, followed Jerec and reached the valley, eventually defeating Jerec and kept the Valley safe.

Years later, Desann using a trick, made Kyle to return to the Valley in order to follow him and discover its location. He used its force to infuse artificially the Force energy to individuals known as Reborn Jedi. Desann and his army attacked the Jedi Academy but were stopped by Skywalker and Katarn.

Kyle shared the secret of the Valley only with his companion Jan Ors and Luke Skywalker, so that the site could be investigated by the Jedi and not misused by their enemies.

What is your thoughts on the valley?

I think in Jedi Knight it was a source of limitless power just like they say, but you have to be in it for a really long time. After Kyle freed the spirits and in JO it is simply a quick way to reach your full potential IMO.

Yes that's a good point. Neither Jerec or Desann were Sith lords, they were Dark Jedi.

Jerec I called a Sith because of his background being a Jedi Master before then being trained by Sidious as a Dark Jedi in case something happened to him or Vader. Jarac finished his training after Sidious and Vader died.
Desann too was being trained as a Jedi but became a Dark Jedi. He trained hard and even took in a padwaan learner for himself. Desann is as close to a Sith Lord as anyone in Jedi Knight.

Desann's good but has no knowledge of the Sith but Jerec does. Some could even argue that he is a Sith Lord by Jedi Knight...

I probly wrong, but I'll just do the common thing on these forums and say "Don't forget Revan". He's prbly bin there .

I never heard about Revan going their. I think he spent his time searching for the Star Forge.
