Here is the confirmation of the rumor that Albus Dumbledore dies within the Half Blood Prince.

Anyway, I got this from a friend, dunno the original source....but.....

Personally I don't think that Snape did it, he was framed or it was a misunderstanding or something like that.

Or maybe Dumbledore's not really dead but it just appears that he dies....

Or maybe that isn't even a real page from the book.

I think it's a fake. The writing just doesn't seem like J.K. to me...

It does seem somewhat off for me....

And like I said, even if it WERE real, still doesn't necessarily make it true.

Very soon though, then we'll know for sure.

It's a fake. I can tell because of the star thing by the page number, it isn't like the stars of the other books.

It is a fact. The pages seem too small and the font too big. Also the star by the page number is different from the rest of the books.

You can't tell if the star is different, in the scan (if it is real) it's too blurred to really see. I just checked it against the pages in my copy of OotP and it looks like it could be the same.

But who would scan it? Whoever did is, if it is real, is in deep sh*t.

The star looks the same to me, but the font does look a bit big for a normal version and a bit small for a large-print version.

It seems like '...' is a bit overused for J. K.'s standard.

It doesn't to me. The pages are too small. It can't be paperback because I hear they don't make a book into paper back for a while.

But if it was true, this would be the second time i found out who died before i read the book. Last time i found out sirius died. But at that time i didnt know who sirius was because i didnt read the 3rd book yet.

I completely forgot about the portraits... ah.. they had one for each headmaster so far... Of course they will have one of Dumbledore. Yep, we will be seeing him in a portrait, yep yep... (trying to look on the bright side of stuff)

But how'd they get so much of their former owner's personalities? In my fanfic, i just put my theory that the person must offer a portion of his soul to the portrait maybe.

That kinda doesn't work with the whole Horcrux thing... maybe they're bewitched to have some aspects of the person's personality?

Hey!! Dumbledore actually dies.. i got the book last night like at 12:30 am...actually on the 16th morning.... i think snape actually did it... but he could of been under the curse

I think it is what he wanted Snape to do because he cared more about Harry's life than his own. He knew that Snape would not kill him and the only other way is if the other D.Eaters did. He froze Harry so he wouldn't do anything stupid and end up dying. At the end I believe that he was pleading for him to kill him and not try and save him. The nasty look on Snapes face was disgust and hatred for what he had to do. If he didn't kill DD he would have died because of the Unbreakable Vow. Also, you will notice that Snape was giving Harry advice while they were dueling. He told him that anyone could block his spells until he learns to shut up and clear his mind. This is just a theory, and it could go either way but I think Snape is still working for the Order....Well not anymore. I think he will die in the next book either way.

Snape didn't have to make the Unbreakable Vow. He did it for Narcissa.

I know!!! I was soo mad when i read it, but we all kniow that's J.K's style, she makes soemthnig seem like it isn't gonig ot happen, but it ends up happening. we all know j.K's style is to write what msot likely would happen in the real situation, and YEs it seems like we should be shocked, apalled and angry, but thsi is our beloved J.K we're talknig about. It was obviously not a fake, because I read the whole book already and it is not a fake page. although, you should have scanned the page that had Dumbledore saying "Severus..please..." and snape cruelly pointing his wand at him and yelling "Avada Kedavra!"

You know, you actualyl have a point there. Teh death eaters are too stupid to understand that snape saying anyone could block his spells was actualyl a tip, and when snape kept Harry back from them it was sort of to protect Harry, he even said it was their orders not to kill Harry. You coulde have as ponit. You are very clever!!

I do not believe Snape is entirely evil. Draco was Snape's favorite pupil, and the Malfoy's were his friends. Meanies as they were, they were friends. Snape knew that Voldemort would kill Draco if he failed and just as people protect Harry with their lives, so Snape agreed to protect Draco, to take the fall for him because he knew, as Draco's mother did, that Draco could not succeed.

I don't fault Snape for what he did. Draco put him in that spot. Snape would not have killed or harmed Dumbledore if he had not made the vow to protect Draco. And yes, Snape was protecting Harry in the only way he could bare to, by showing him that he wasn't strong enough to face what was coming and to fight harder and become stronger. Harry has to kill Voldemort, but he does not have what it takes yet to perform the Aveda Kedavra.

Snape stopped the other Death Eaters from hurting Harry and knocked out Professor Flitwick most likely to keep him safe from the battle with teh Death Eaters. I mean really, what was the point to knock him out when he ran right through the battle in which Flitwick would have been caught up anyway.

Snape did kill Dumbledore and he will have to endure that sin, but I do not believe he's evil or ever was. Voldemort picks the weak and the influental to do his work. Malfoy was not weak, but was influental. Snape was weak as JKR showed us so obviously in book 5. I think Snape overcame his weakness, but not his anger and bitterness. I do not think he has joined the Dark Lord as he was once convinced that he must do to overcome his enemies. I think, just like Dumbledore helped Harry, he also helped Snape.

My thoughts though...

Dumbledore didn't kill anyone and I doubt he'd sink to Voldemort's level.

I'm not even sure that Dumbledore knew what a Horcrux was at first...why else would he not explain what it was to Harry to convince him to get the memory sooner?

if DD had horcruxes he wouldnt be dead, he killed grindlewald ( spelling cant remeber lol)

but in all his years i think he knew about them but wanted to clarify ti harry what they were

I dunno...that whole thing kindof confused me. I know he wanted Harry to discover on his own, to teach him the cunning of Voldemort, but still...that would be something to mention.

I think this is offically not a book series for kids anymore. Its getting very complex and dark. This means we will get some good fireworks with Hp with snape, malfoy, and the dark lord.

No, even thou I do not wish to say that he is indeed dead... his picture now remains on the wall with all of the other "passed on" headmasters and headmisstress'. So in my conclusion he is sadly dead.

However, when it comes to Snape... he who must not be named would never put so much trust in someone who was not a pureblood. He was part muggle I think something is not right there...
