Well surely everyone is a stranger to everyone at some point... so If you never talked to any of them no one would ever talk to anyone...

Without speaking or communication between each other there would be no way to get ideas, points or warnings across to others meaning there would be no education, no inventions, no order or law. Without all of this people would be free to walk the streets (metaphorical streets, because without communication streets would have never been invented.) are free to do whatever they please, including murder. Making more danger and a greater chance of bad things happening....

So surely talking to strangers is not a bad thing...

Unless the stranger wants to give you candy....
