Ok, so I was thinking about this at work and I figured I'd post it here to see what you all think.

If you found you go go back in time (hypothetical ) and you met yourself at the ages of 21 (if you're old enough), 18, 13 and 10 what do you think you might say to yourself? What would you do?

If I were to meet my 18 year old persona I think I would kick the living daylights out of my ignorant, arrogant self, first... then try my damndest to explain where I was going wrong and what I could do about it.

As for my 13 year old self, I'd probably ignore me, I wouldn't want to talk to me at that age, I remember what I was like

Myself at 10? I think I'd just cuddle myself for hours... and cry

How about you guys?

Let's see I'm 29 and if I were to go back in time to my 21st birthday I would just observe myself. I would neither talk nor try to get the attention of my earlier self. I would just look at myself to get the 3rd person perspective. And to see how others saw me.

That's cool I can imagine myself trying not to speak to, uh... myself. But I doubt I'd be able to restrain myself

i would give myself the results of some lotto thing so i will become rich

nah. just kidding. would be too scared to talk with myself. plus i know that if i tried to change anything it would just went worse

I'd shake myself by the hand and congratulate myself for being clever enough to invent time travel.

Seriously, I'd tell myself to party/study more and not care what people think about me.

I was only 18 a year ago.....so there's not much I'd like to tell myself at that age but to stop worrying about things and just let go and trust my feelings.

I'd like to go back and tell my 13 year old self to be more confident and to not worry so much about other people think....that was right around when I became really shy.

Dunno about when I was 10....

I'd say "Man, let me ****ing shake the hand of a child prodigy".

Though to be honest, I'd give myself a few warnings of people.

It seems that people would primarily like to warn themselves of the dangers ahead... why do you think this is so important?

Well..being seventeen..I'd probably go back to 13 and tell myself to relax more..and to be more confident and less sensitive so I can avoid that whole bullying thing..also to let go of my old friends and find some new ones..

Fi, that's another thing I would do... tell myself to move on from my old friends and widen my horizons a little...

21...errr...no reason to go back to this year.

18...I'd tell myself to find a better job and to follow my lifelong dream of owning my own movie theater.

13...I'd teach myself to talk to girls a lot better. I was a sad case.

10...I'd tell myself not to be so shy and to let others in my life.

Definitely... but that's why it's a good thing we can't actually go back in time, I suppose... we learn as we go along. We take our mistakes and teach ourselves not to do it again! Could you imagine if you suddenly popped up and told yourself not to do something? As freaked out as you'd no doubt be, would you actually listen to yourself any more than you would a peer, or a parent?

Tell myself how awesome I am. Then fight myself just to see how good I am.

There's things that I wish I could have told myself about when I was younger, but when I think about it, if I did, I might not be where I am today.

Would be nice if you could at times though!

I think it would nice to have one day where things were different....you could be with anyone and be anywhere you wanted for just one day...

Well if I could Go back to my 10 year old self I'd say you have a stupid haircut and then watch wrestling with myself because it kicked ass then, if I went back to my 13 year old self I'd tell him that Next year you're going to have the best times of your life...then punch him in the face and take his wallet.... Cant go to 18 or 21 because I'm neither yet...

That would be great... but wouldn't we, as humans, desire more than just one day? Even if we vowed to tolerate the limit, we'd always want more.

Only if you knew.. that's a good point actually. What if this perfect day were your insight into what could become of your life if you were to strive to reach your full potential? That's incentive enough, surely... wouldn't it be great if everyone had the Xmas Past, Xmas Present and Xmas Future ghostly trio come over one night, like Scrooge... the world would be full of responsible, hard working, generous people. I thought I'd answer this without reading anyones else's posts first...Oh. how brave I am...

If I went to see myself at 10......I'd cry too.......didn't feel too loved then.
at 13...I would probably say...keep up the good fight...you're a Strong girl..
at 18...I'd say...don't feel guilty for thinking for yourself...and please...get a life outside of that boyfriend...you'll be thankful later...really....I knowing me...I think I'd listen.
at 21...I'd say...look...see I told you so...should of listened to me...OH, you listened.....It's about time....party on girl......

Considering I made a large post, although jocular in nature, regarding the topic, I sure hope that's not directed at me.

It always makes me laugh when people moan about thread "hijackers". Are you not capable of going back on topic after going very slightly off?

No s***! I threw in a one-sentence, intended harmless "rib" in the abortion thread, and, because of some analness, had to spend the next 3 hours defending what was nothing more than a joke to begin with!
