We're aware of the problem, the Recycle Bin is full of reports regarding these threads, pushing down potentially important alerts from other forums. The threads will be closed and the poster dealt with whenever a Global moderator is available.

I didn't want to use this as a soapbox, but it's a prime example. I've respected other peoples obligations, but if you're not around to fulfill an important obligation, you should forfeit it to someone who's devoted and cares about the forums.

I agree with that 100%

Back in '03 when I first joined there was actually order here on KMC and there was actually Global Mods that did their job (Not implying that Milla doesn't do her job, she actually does a pretty damn good job when she is online!)...But I believe there should be a lot of global mods due to the number of members that are online--with mods that are on around the clock (meaning someone from the US is on or someone from the UK etc)

Most mods are assigned to a specific board/boards. They can't use any of their funky closing topic powers and such outside said boards.

Globals have free reign over everywhere.

Regular mods are in charge of certain forums. Global mods can mod the entire board and have the power to ban.

I'm relegated to the Movie forums, which is were bestowed upon me back in December of last year, and for which I am still incredibly grateful for. I provide a positive posting experience in said forums, maintain order and actively maintain them DAILY. That said, the significance of Globals is that they have unlimited power. But, that power is only as strong as their availability is abundant..which it isn't, thus where we are right now.

I've been getting PM's from people asking why I haven't done anything yet. I just smile and reply that I've got my hands tied, and to mail Raz and tell him how you feel.

If I ever get the position, I don't want it to be a mercy job, I want it because I earned it, we're in need of a quality, devoted moderator, and because everyone else sees what I've been bitching about all these months.

Precisely. We have 4 Globals. One in the UK, one in MEXICO, and two in California!?

So, you've got 2 that aren't available at the forums busiest times, and two that are on 4 hours later than approx. 50% of the user base, at the busiest times. I work from home, online sales, so I have Mozilla open all day long. I've petitioned for a Global spot, and why nobody wants to use my BOTTOMLESS RESOURCES..being online ALL DAY BEING THE SELLING POINT..is totally beyond me.

The OTF is a disgrace at the moment....

4 Globals is not enough for the magnitude of members and the number of threads created daily...

Maybe in '03... but '03 had much less in the way of registered users... Unless Raz steps up a gear... I cannot for the life of me see these forums improve from here...

The issues are too vast to just label as "things". A lot of staffing and quality control issues are going ignored, and have been for months. Keep ignoring them, and they'll only get worse, IMO.
