This game would not just be about Hogwarts but the whole Wizarding World. You could go to Hogwarts to attain spells and ability's But you could also be able to chose to Follow the Dark Lord. You could Learn to kill people bu using The Unforgivable Curse. Once you die you would go to an afterlife or chose to stay behind on Earth.

I guess it would sorta kinda work, but it would need to be really well-planned out by the developers.

It could definitely work. Actually, sounds kinda cool. The open endedness is cool and there are plenty of side stories to work with... good idea.

Well, its basically would be an RPG somewhat except it would take place on earth in present time with no fantasy settings.
I think it would work out perfectly with RPG settings, learning new spells, have characters with different personalities ex, Aurors, Dark Magic, transfiguration, potions, memory charms, planteology, and more.
It would be cool, especially if they had a similar story line compared to the books. Have like a different storyline with made up characters similar to Voldemort or something like.

Out of all the franchises they are, Harry Potter could easily be done and would work really well. Not so much with Star Wars or the Matrix.

if they made it right it could be very good I imagine...but the HP games out already are pretty lame so it would have to differ from them quite abit....let blizzard make it!

This is a very good idea. I would definitely play it and I have never played a MMORPG ever. Not by choice but anyway.

And you could choose if you wanted to be a wizard or witch or ghose or troll or siren or anything like that.
And if you chose to be a witch/wizard you could learn different spells and like have a specific area of expertise like Auror, or Transfiguration, etc.
And you could join the dark side or good side and there would be 2 worlds. The human world where you couldn't let people know who you werr and if you were a troll or something you just couldn't go at all unless you wanted to terrorize the citizens or something and get in trouble by Dumbledore or something and be taken to Azkaban and if you somehow managed to escape you'd be well known throughout the game like Sirus.
And you would be able to gain celebritism in the game like Harry Potter Status or Voldemort Status by doing something good or bad or surviving something, just being known for something. But this should be an easy acquired title and there should be a lot of opportunities to gain this title and after a while nobody else should be able to be that well known because if a bunch of people were than it wouldn't mean anything.
And maybe you could become a teacher or something or leader of the dark side or of a dark group.
And maybe participate in one of the story lines of the books or maybe you could choose join whole different section of the game according to what storyline/book it was on or something like that so multiple story lines would be going on at a certain time so only the people who chose the storyline you chose would be in the game with you and the other people who chose other story lines wouldn't be and would be in another game so there would be like 7 different Hogwarts, since there are 7 books all together.

That's ridiculous.
Out of all the games from the series (which are made when the movies come out just for the money), an MMO is probalby the only perfect genre that Harry Potter would do well.

Just think of being an Auror going after Voldemorts minions in real time, and those minions are real humans. It would be awesome.
