I wonder...
So, I was thinking the other day, and I realised that Lgan shouldn't be so buff. He should be his natural size. He shouldn't be anywhere over average muscle masse. Here's why:
Working out, pumping heavy weights, increases your muscle mass/size because you are breaking your... something... muscle tenden? (I don't know the actual thing your breaking, but I know the general is true) Anyway, then your body recreates the broken muscle, and makes it bigger and more durable, to prevent it from having to happn again, okay?
So- I' sure everyone sees where I'm going with this- Wolverine should heal immediatly after pumping, and so his body should never have to re-produce his bulk in bulk (ha... ha...ha... funny, right? come on, guys!! lol). Am I right? Am I wrong?
DarkCrawler
I'm...not...sure...
You must be really bored...
Scoobless
maybe his body would grow muscle mass at an increased rate due to the ripped fibres stitching back together at their increased size so quickly
LousyBoy
You cant apply rules of biology into comic books. WTF man. some stuff is fake. did u know that?
ScarletSpider
As someone works out, the muscle tissue tears, as it repairs itself, the bridge of the tear is repaired with new tissue, making the muscle bigger, and the person stronger. I read somewhere that a human muscle has great potential for strength, it just can't be realized because it would break the bones and tendons with stress and whatnot. With adamantium bones, Wolverine can actually stand to endure more stress, so it makes sense that he's about peak human strength.
Lord-of-Dreams
I see... But I'm saying that his tissue should never tear in the first place.
And LousyBoy, calm yourself down, son. If you wanna talk about realistic, look at some of the relationships or the explanations of mutants. The government systems (look at BlackPanther 1-6 for my point) are pretty much shadows of the real ones. So, why shouldn't I wonder about strange loops and contradictions. (troll...)

He's mildly superhuman, Because after you get the peak human strength, you still have to figure in the adamantium assisting him in his actions. Attacking as well as lifting. The adamantium reenforces the bones to allow him slightly greater than peak human.

Red Superfly
He would grow muscle mass a lot quicker, actually.
olympian
If your used in comics, and play a role of a hero or a major villain, your buff.

Wolverine can't lift more than a ton he probably could lift about half a car if needed. What annoys me is the way some people figure he has superhuman strength..........

Why would you do something like that?
Guys in comics are always overbuff, like women are overridiculously built and curved...
He's overboard, but I don't care.
And LoD, I think you are talking about rippedness instead of buffness...

Nah i was referring more to your acceptance that real world science cant always be applied to the comic book world.

What, lets see.
Guys like looking at girls, (which is why comic girls look the way they do in comics.) and vice versa. Mr. Jean Grey, thats just common logic, thats why they do that.
As for that, in a debate they can, if it doesn't conflict with powers, but this is a discussion ricky, anything can happen in a comic, but we are going by what is given to us and saying why someone wins.
I need to talk to you about something in a pm.

What this guy said. Wolverine's metabolism is really high because of his healing factor, which is why there's like no visible fat on him. He's insanely active, and building up muscle tissue is a natural function of your body, only truly harmful if you overdo it in the extreme. The healing factor wouldn't stop part of his body from functioning normally, it would just repair his muscles that much faster.

Not necessarily making it BIGGER though, if you want to get technical.
I had a 2% bf, and I didn't get big because I didn't want nor need to, its just how he is drawn.
Cyke is buff, so is like every other male character, except spiderman, he is just ripped.
K Von Doom
Some artists draw him wih exaggerated muscles, but that's what heroes are supposed to look like - they can't be drawn like the average joe. Superman shouldn't be so buff either seeing as he doesn't really exert himself physically most of the time.
ScarletSpider
He should be stronger than the average guy, even the average guy who goes swinging on Bat cables through the city at night. But he shouldn't be lifting a few tons, 800 pounds should be the limit, because even with the adamantium, his tendons and ligaments would tear and snap, and even though he heals superfast, it isn't guaranteed they'd heal correctly....

It's funny, because I'm pretty sure 800 IS Bat's limit.

The thing is, this isn't true, not for Wolverine. In Wolverine: Snikt! his right arm was burned so badly only his adamantium bones remained; guess what? They were still linked together. Wolverine was still able to use his arm (even though he had to hold it with his left hand). If there is cartilage between his bones that can be severed, than it can also be burned away, and obviously thats not the case.
What about New X-Men, E is for Extinction? Nova burned off all the flesh on his right arm, and guess what? the arm bones were still linked together. They didn't collapse or fall off, which is what they would have done had there been connecting ligaments and cartilage.
How about Miller's Wolverine? When Shingen and Logan fight, Shingen aims a sword stroke at Logans' neck; I've been informed that it was later explained (whether by Miller or Claremont, I don't know) that it was an attack that was meant to sever Wolverine's head, by cutting inbetween the connecting bones; but since Wolverine's adamantium reinforces and links those bones, it couldn't cut through.
And lets not forget Blood Hungry.

Wolverine may look big but he isnt superhuman level, only by fanboy standards can he lift over a ton...............

You just need to be able to lift more than a peak human, which thanks to the adamantium Wolverine can.
