Somebody else told me it's 666, but I could swear it's not true. There's a bookstore here with a Japanesey mural on it which bears that symbol. Hence the reason I doubt that's what it is.

Also, I've never seen the movie, but I did a quick search, and it's clearly not that, if this is the same symbol used in the movie:

from what i can gather its a symbol that wards off evil spirits that was painted onto war drums and is known as mitsudomoe...thats from about 1 minute of searching...hope it helps
