Most epic song?

Alpha Centauri
What is, in your opinion, the most epic song you've ever heard?
By epic I mean in scope or ambition. It doesn't have to be a long song, or it can be. For example: Reflection by Tool or Reise, Reise by Rammstein.
Go.
-AC
Deathblow
Black Rose Immortal by Opeth, ok so it's very long, but it's more deserving of the ''epic'' tag than anything I can think of. And Just Like You Imagined has always struck me as epic for some reason, it really does sound like the end of the world.
Crossing genres, I'd also say Post Mortem by Mr. Lif & co, Stepfather Factory by El-P and Iron Galaxy by Cann Ox.
Impediment
Off the top of my noodle, I'd have to say "Dechristianize" by Vital Remains. It's truly one of the most evil and malevolent songs I've ever listened to, ranging from the most brutal anti-christian epithets to just plain, outright hatred in general. A true anthem for the ungodly. It tops out at 8 min 45 seconds.

haha... Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria

Bardock42
I am not sure the way you mean that but I'd say Stairway to Heaven is pretty epic.....
Red Superfly
American Idiot by Green Day.

Victor Von Doom
Bohemian Rhapsody probably defines the concept.
Paranoid Android by Radiohead; Third Eye by Tool; Aenema by Tool; Eulogy by Tool (pretty much anything by Tool actually); many Opeth songs; many Devin Townshend songs.
Special mention for He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot by Grandaddy- unbelievable.
Probably most epic song, I think, is The Moor by Opeth.
Red Superfly
Can I have the Immigrant Song by Zeppelin then?
If not, then tough.
Bardock42
I agree with Paranoid Android and Bohemian Rhapsody...they are just awesome songs (although I still don't understand what makes a Song "epic"

Alpha Centauri
The Moor is probably mine also. Closely followed, as of now, by Earth Day by Devin Townsend.
Special mention to Mutter by Rammstein.

Deathblow
Another one, Kitten Moon by Fluke, and I can't believe no one's mentioned Unfinished Symphony yet, Massive Attack define the word ''epic''.
Alpha Centauri
Massive Attack also define the word "thieves". Most of their material got ripped off Tricky.
Although that is a great song.
-AC
Deathblow
What did they steal off Tricky? He gave Massive Attack some of the songs from Maxinquaye, because he hadn't finished the stuff he was doing for them before he left. That wasn't thievery or MA's fault..
..unless there's some part of this I don't know?
Alpha Centauri
He was in Massive Attack and nearly every idea they produced until the later stages of their career is quite clearly based upon Tricky's material. Not even including the songs he "gave" them.
I'm sure Tricky's not bothered, having the best Trip Hop album ever to his name, but it's still rather shitty.
-AC
Deathblow
He was part of the group, who's to say it was just Tricky's ideas? Either way, I've never noticed a direct rip-off, and I listen to both quite freqently, and they are pretty like minded artists so it's a little unfair to just say and assume they ripped him off. Especially as Blue Lines and Mezzanine are better than anything Tricky has done anyway IMO.
Alpha Centauri
They're to say it was Tricky's ideas, more or less framework. Rob Del Naja has repeatedly said it in any interview I've seen when they are asked who inspires them or where the template comes from. They obviously have their own sound but I don't give them that much credit.
Blue Lines is great, Mezzanine also. I don't think any of them touch Maxinquaye. Just off the back of it being more revolutionary and taking into account the history between the bands/artists. But different strokes and all that.
