Improving T3

hello fellow Terminator fans,

For those who have read my posts, you will know that I feel sorry for T3. Although the film has many plot holes, it still has a place in my caring heart. We all know T3 can and SHOULD be improved, and one of many things I have thought of can help link it with Cameron's films.

OK here I go. So one idea I have is when Arnold's Terminator takes John and Kate to the cementery to take them to Sarah's coffin, well just to make the scene more emontional, John could of had the photo of his mom(taken in T1 and used by John in T2) when speaking about her. He could of been looking at it and maybe a tear falling on it, with the Terminator saying in the background, "Sarah Connor was Cremated....."

What do you think? Also I wanna know if you have any ideas that can improve some of the scenes in T3. And why is it that I like the talking parts of the film, more so than the action?

P.S. And does Arnold's Terminator really have to be a T-850?

Thank You

Billy (aka barand1)

The photo was definitly one of the major elements that was missing from T3.

NoFate007
I didn't like how utterly pointless that scene in the quick stop was. The sole reason behind it was to have that "talk to the hand" joke, it served nothing for the plot whatsoever. Some stuff we can't change, like the whole character of Kate Brewster and her horrible acting and ugly face when she screamed...

Improvements:
1. Explanation as to how Cyberdyne's equipment was given to CRS.
2. A much, much better future war scene.
3. Put the Terminator theme back in there
4. Cameo by Kyle Reese, or at least a nod to him
5. Take out that Connor dies before the war is over.

I'm sure I could think of more.

Yes, that that would be much better big grin

And I wish the showed more of the future war scene.

Benhacker cool

Do away with the cheesy jokes and improve the opening credit sequence. Its silent !!

Also we really need a better villain, and a more convincing death for her. Still can't get over that stupid chopper death.

barand1
The scene where the T-X injects the police car. Now in this scene we get zoomed in into the engine of the car. This shot I'm not a huge fan of. It doesn't feel right or if anything Terminator. The scene would of felt more realistic and better if we just see the car lights flicker on and off, rather than get whisked through, like a small rollercoaster into the inside of the police car.

barand1
And also I don't like it when the T-850 says to the T-X, 'Excuse me'. Terminators don't talk to each other. Imagine that scene without that line, much better impact.

And has anybody played Terminator 3: The Redemption? Well I haven't only in demo, but from what I have seen it looks great. I know it's been out a while now, but just checked a few video clips, and it does make the T-X look great. Why wasn't she like that in the movie. In the game she is scary! For those, who like me, haven't played the video game here is the clip I am on about.

It's titled under Trailer 1. Enjoy!

Not to mention the rather un-realistic automatic movement of the car's clutch. A clutch can not automatically depress itself with no physical force on it whatsoever. Very bad.

"Terminators don't talk to each other."

Hasta la vista baby.

barand1
Yeah ok Arnold's Terminator says 'Hasta la vista baby' to the T-1000, but that's different. I mean the T-800 hits the T-1000 without saying a word and it looks and feels so much better. With the line 'Excuse me' makes the Terminator feel like old mates who hardly talk to each other. In T2 T-800 only talks to T-1000 just before destroying him and that should be the same for T3. I think. I just don't like it, watch the scene and then imagine the scene without that line said.

Boondock Saint
In my opinion, the T-800 only said "hasta la vista, baby" because that's what John told him to do earlier in the movie. If you recall, they were in the car and John was trying to educate him as to how people spoke in order for him to blend in better. The scene went:

John: And if you want to shine someone on, it's "hasta la vista, baby."

T-800: "Hasta la vista...baby."

I'm new, by the way.

barand1
Welcome Boondock!!

Boondock Saint
Thanks, 'preciate it. ^_^

The Ones
take everything that happened in T3. scrap it and do something else

barand1
I think your asking for the impossible. The only way to improve T3 is if WB agree to add more scenes which us fans want! Also to take away, maybe change the things we don't like.

Will our dreams come true? I hope so.

Boondock Saint
I think the best thing we can do is chalk T3 up as an alternate timeline (that sucks). After all, in Terminator Reese says that he comes from "one possible future", implying that there could be many alternatives. Although granted, he then states that he's not sure and he doesn't know "tech stuff."

chriscaffee
T3 really wasn't bad, it's just not as good as the previous films. It lacks of the depth of the previous two, but I wouldn't lump it in with movies like My Giant and The Interpreter.

barand1
Yeah good point Chriscaffee! I love T3, but the other two are just fantastic! If only someone, even Mostow could just go back and add some more stuff, add at least 30 minutes more. More war scenes, more story, longer battle towards the end with the T-850 and T-X! Would be much better!

Does anyone think Mostow will dircted T4?

The Ones
hes already written the script. this doesnt look good now does it

vvvrulz
He might end up doing what Shumacher did to Batman.

Two great movies, followed by an ok one (T3 vs Batman Forever), followed by an utterly abysmal one (Batman and Robin, T4?).

Lets hope not !

chriscaffee
All the "original" Batman movies were trash. Batman Begins is how a Batman movie should be done.

vvvrulz
Eh?

The '89 Batman and Returns were pretty good I thought.

chriscaffee
I'll give you Batman Returns.

barand1
OK that's enough about Batman.

I agree with vvvrulz, Batman and Batman Returns are great movies! And of course Batman Begins is also great, but not as great as the Terminator movies!

Please keep this Terminator related

The Ones
If they do improve T3, atleast get the god damn dates and age's correct

(eg: they tried to kill me before i was born, when i was 13 they tried again. well john was 10 so that is wrong straight off)

barand1
T3 is incorrect in many places. I think we as fans want these corrections corrected! The question is, can we get an improved T3? Well maybe we should somehow get our message across to the big man himself, Schwarzenegger! I might be living in a dream world, but Arnold is a man who listens to his fans and maybe this might be the way. Maybe I'm talking a lot of s**t, but I don't mind :P

I dunno, all I'm saying is that an improved T3 would be a dream come true! Not just for me, but to you fellow Terminator fans!

Peace out!

chriscaffee
As I've said countless times T2 is also inconsistent with the original in many places. If they redid the dialouge in T3 and Terminator said "CRS 101, T800" instead of "T-101" and John said "10" instead of "13" T3 would not suddenly be a fantastic movie.

The way to make T3 better is to give it the same depth as the first two movies, which I don't think you can do. You can't just inject depth into a superficial script. The script has to be written around an excellent story to begin with.

Could they have improved T3 for a DVD release? Yes. Should they now? Not really. The movie is what it is. Too bad it couldn't be more, but it also could have been much much worse.

vvvrulz
Yes, when I walked out of the movies that day, I distinctly remember telling myself it could have been much worse.
