As much as I love to play the acoustic and as much time as I kill of practicing, I'll never be able to play Lindsay Buckingham's "Big Love". It's a little manic, but a great piece nonetheless. If you haven't heard it, I reccomend you give it a listen.

I'm interested in anyone else's favourite acoustic song, always looking for new gems.

Alpha Centauri
Mosquito Song by Queens of the Stone Age is incredible.

-AC

Darth Revan
I like Rage's cover of "Beautiful World" and anything by the Nightwatchman. Real simple stuff, but great and acoustic nonetheless...

Often when it comes to acuostic, less is more.

Alpha Centauri
The Nightwatchman material (Tom Morello) is really good.

Until the End is an incredible song.

-AC

The Highlord
Wanted Dead or Alive by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora at MTV, that was infact also the thing that started MTV Unplugged smile

Elondra
Green Day-Good Riddancesmile

koolruningz
Bob Marley - Redemption Song. For many reasons.

Deathblow
I like Here Comes The Breeze by Gomez, and A Stranger by APC, the ultimate in acoustic simplicity.

But when it comes down to it, Fake Plastic Trees is pretty unrivalled.

Victor Von Doom
Butterfly by Weezer.

Pezmerga
Nirvana's Covers of Lake of Fire and The Man Who Sold the World are both good.

PINBALL
Stephen Lynch special fred

Piggle Humsy

I was going to choose that one, so I'll nominate another - although it's an acoustic version, rather than a strictly acoustic song...

'High' - Feeder

"I'm going out for a while, so I can get high with my friends..."

Also, I'm not a big Coldplay fan, but 'Til Kingdom Come' is beautiful.

One more...Ben Harper and Jack Johnson's cover of Marley's 'High Tide or Low Tide' is perfect.

It's smooooooooooth. I think they did it on 'Last Call' on MTV, so you'll have to download it...It's a great cover, though.

I am making an all acoustic album and there have been good songs in here so far and I appreciate the (indirect) help.

How about Love of my Life by Queen? Nobody think of that one? If you get a chance to, listen to the Live at Wembly version that was recorded back in 1986 (I was 2 then...) and you will be rather impressed. And, of course, Zakk Wylde's acoustic "Mama I'm Coming Home" is always a winner. I mean, it's Zakk

As for modern songs, Hey there Delilah by the Plain White T's... A Sharp Hint of New Tears by Dashboard (I really dont care for them either, but I like this song) and pretty much anything by Days of the New.

Df02
Jose Gonzalez - Crosses

Smallville
Good one

Smallville
Winter Solstice by The Tea Party

Df02
if you're making a brilliant acoustic album, dont bother... just buy Veneer by Jose Gonzalez

Smallville

Hotpants
Led Zeppelin - Over the hills and far away

Well, i guess its not really an "Acoustic Guitar" song, but it does have one of my favorite acoustic moments in the beginning of the song. Truely spectacular fingering and whatnot. Well, you know what. I'm calling *** an acoustic song, because there is a LOT of acoustic guitar in it. Which is the best part of the whole song (IMO)
