Can I put up pics of some of my work here?

As long as they aren't pornographical, and are rated 'PG-13'. You can read the rules in the first thread on this forum.
fini

I'm sure you'll get one done, someday, make sure and look out for them. The UK has a bunch, from what I hear.
Sorry I'm in Trinidad, the only person from here who can get a pattern from me is Tassie.
hear that Tas?!?!
Flying High
she's lucky
fini
well if she sees this thread then she'll bug me( well maybe) . Still have to find a day to meet her though.
Coldfire
That is so cool... how's it done??
SaTsuJiN
You might be able to buy it in a store that sells wierd stuff.. it also goes by the name of Henna.. basically its a plant that gets crushed and mixed with water.. and it dyes your skin
fini
And to add to that,
they use the dried leaves of the Henna plant. These leaves are ground to a fine powder and then mixed with water, lime juice and other oils.
http://tattoo-me.com/products/powderinbowl.gif
After it is mixed, the paste is left to sit for at least 6 hrs, to allow the dye to be liberated from the paste. After which the paste is put into tubes/cone like the one below and then sealed at the larger end.
http://rupalpinto.com/mehndi/mpics/cones.jpg
the tip of the cone is cut and the paste is squeezed onto the skin and a pattern is drawn out.
http://www.hennapage.com/henna/how/mylaruse2.jpg
The paste needs to dry and then time is given for the dye from the paste to seep into the skin. This can take anywhere from 3-8 hrs. ONce the paste is removed, a colour ranging from orange to red-brown is left on the skin.
The pattern can take from 1-3 weeks to fade fully.
fini
oo look even more
Alright these are the last set of pics before I bring on the bride mehendi designs.

That sounds like a lot of fun to do
fini
lol, but it takes time to do. When I have to do a bridal pattern, I usually take 2.5-3 hrs to finish it.

I can still do the mehendi, but i need the other hand to mix the paste and make the tubes. and I need my other hand to steady a customer's hand and to do quick fixes, lol, OOOOO its gonna be a long 3 months.
And my left hand is my blank canvas, hmmm looks like i'll have to practise on more feet patterns.
fini
Ha its gonna take more than not being able to use a hand to stop me from doing mehendi.
Here's my latest and my bandaged fingers too!!!!!!!!!!

Me either!
fini
thanks all, but patience like that I developed long ago, I used to do protraits, so to draw a face in 1-2 hrs you need patience.
plus being almost always sick, your brain learns to do cope with doing the same thing over a long period of time.
fini
here comes the rest.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/Nirmala_pics/backofRiaarms.jpg

Yeah it sorta reminds me of those too yes
fini
LOL, yeah a few people have made that comment. But its not the effect that is wanted, after Mehendi has been around longer than 'lace gloves'

Hmmm I'm ordering a new one though, so hopefully I'll get it before febuary and before carnival.
flirtybaby
is that perment is that a real takto??
fini
uhhh no, it fades away anywhere between 1-3 weeks. Depending on the person's skin
crazy for boys
cool i had one of them on my ark before it lasted for me 5 weeks well thats good stuff you did
or who ever did it
fini
WOW 5 weeks
Thats a long time, on lighter skined people, it does last a lot longer usually.
On my bad hand ( ok it isn't bad anymore) I had a pattern that lasted over 3 weeks, thats cause I couldn't use it to do lots of washing or it didn't get washed as often as the other one, as it was in a bandage and I needed to use a wet cloth to clean the hand, LOL
Thanks by the way, I did all the pics you saw here.
fini
uhhhhhhhh
what does that have to do with Mehendi. LOL if u got a pattern to share, I'll gladly welcome them.
fini
I fixed my camera, lol, so I can put up more pics now, wooohooo
fini
Divali TIme, so hopefully I'll have lot more pics to put up.

Got two brothers here that dont do crap to help.

Midnight109
Haha! I wouldn't even be able to imagine doing all of that by myself. But then I'm younger that you, lol. Force them up to help you- or threaten them.
