people can only hear and speak through her fields when she wants them to. Her field doesnt just have an on and off setting. Its very versatile and its characteristics are specific to whatever task she wants of them. They can be soft to catch people, they can make objects invisible, they can filter certain forms of energy. Her field is not made of matter, sound needs matter to travel, so unless she wills it, her fields are generally sound proof.
