Wonderman
smart Is the enchantment of the ruby more powerful than that of the hammer?

Sentry
Thor wins by banishment everytime. A physical battle, Juggs would crush him.

B.A
An empty NY. Current Thor from his new series (read #4) and current Juggernaut back at full power.

Who wins? smile

Gecko4lif
Thor wins this

The fact that he is stronger then classic means he instantly wins again jugs

B.A
How will he win?

you forgot to stipulate "no bfr" so Thor automatically wins. Teleport Jugs into orbit, the Sun, a black hole somewhere= instant win.

even without BFR, Thor is WAAAY faster than juggernaut is, an order of magnitude more intelligent, and has matter manipulation abilities.

In a straight brawl? it would probably be a stalemate, but there's no reason outside of PIS for Thor to fight that way.

B.A
I thought he lost the teleport ability.

Anyway: NEW RULE:

He can not teleport so no BFR like leaving him on the Sun.

Nope. Thor can't time travel anymore, but mjolnir can teleport Thor or anything else anywhere in the universe.

you missed the rest of my post, I guess. Thor has the ability to fly AND attack at 2x the speed of light. juggernaut is not this fast.

He has matter manipulation abilities up to and including the ability to transmute elements and create antimatter.

This alone is the dealbreaker. Thor transmutes the ground under juggernaut's feet (say, 100 feet down or so) into wet cement, and juggernaut is instantly out of the fight.

how do I know this? Because spiderman beat classic juggernaut by tricking him into doing the same thing, and juggs was stuck there for about a week.

There's no way for thor to lose this outside of PIS

I do remember Thor nullifying Juggernaut's shield once and start kicking the crap out of him.

Not sure what issue though.

I remember that but the thing is I always that juggs shield was something that added to his durablility not the source of it.

Thor no longer has the 60 second enhancement on the mjnior, so he can have all the time he wants to beat Juggernaut down.

I have always hated bfr though as a means for victory but against Juggernaut it truly might be needed. I still think WW Hulk would be to much for Thor.

Priest
yep that has always been a classic showdown.

Ptr_Grifin
The problem is now, that Cain could easily survive that without his shield. He has been shown that he doesn't need any organs to stand and fight. So him getting beat around like that isn't going to work anymore.
Not to mention that writer didn't know much about Juggernaut's character, he labeled him a mutant. Like the above poster said, his durability isn't tied to his shield, the writer didn't research his character enough before using him

Anyways, Thor used to be able to be hurt by bullets and now he isn't hurt by them. It is basically the same thing, they both got upgrades to their characters.

Juggernaut's not going to get trapped in concrete again. I'm not even sure how he got trapped to begin with. He must of been the perfect buoyancy to sit in the center and have no urge to thrash about to get out.

Has Juggernaut used or had his shield mentioned outside of this issue and the Spider-man issue?

MightyEInherjar
Thor wins.

He can always use his little "anti magic cyclone" like he did in Thor 429, and pummel Juggernaut to death with his fists or w/ lightning.

It has been rarely mentioned. For instance when Juggs had to jump out of a plane with Black Tom, Cyclops suggested using his shield to protect Tom from the fall.

In his early appearances it was used offensively, to actually push people back or shoot "globules of energy" at them.

The main intended use of the shield is to keep people from grabbing on to him and getting to his helmet.

Larceny
Physically Cain wins. Otherwise Thor takes this easily.

I completely forgot about the globules thing. And his ability to re-channel energy.

Bink

I used to look through that site all the time back when I first joined but it's been a while.

janus77
Thor wins by separating Juggernaut from his magical protection, using mjolnir, then beating the crap out of him.

that and bfr are the only ways I see of Thor winning.
unless Odin's > Cyttorak, in which case I could see Thor just pummelling the shit out of Juggernaut anyway.

Doctor-Alvis
Odin and Cyttorak's status compared to each other shouldn't matter. It's all about how much Thor and Juggernaut have. Yeah, the god with the most power can afford to shell out more but that might not be the case.

Also Odin is still dead isn't he? And I don't think Thor got much of anything from Odin anyway except for the hammer and occasionally calling upon Odinpower. He's his own godly offspring with his own powers.

janus77
without the Odinforce, I don't think Thor's much of a power.
definitely not gonna have enough to do any harm to Juggernaut. afterall he used the godblast and all it did was halt juggernaut (not even toy with him ala WarHulk).

Warhulk toyed with him?

Because all I saw was the hulk slowing him down slightly and then getting him with his green tendril. Didn't see any toying there.

the hammer's not as strong as the enchantment, though it can temporarily remove the enchantment, thus giving Thor the opportunity to kill Cain.

Thor ftw.

I don't think Thor could kill Juggernaut when he blocked him enhancements because in order to block them he has to loose the hammer for awhile which only leaves his fighting skills which ain't going to be enough.

Nod
Thor does the shield removing trick and doesn't lose his powers this time.

K-Dog
Since Juggernaut was unfazed by the godblast, I don't see how Juggernaut loses as far as enchantment strength (if I am thinking along the right lines as what the question asked)

Ptr_Grifin
Lets put it this way, that writer didn't research Juggernaut's character enough. He assumed that Cain's durability was tied to his shield, which it isn't. He was lacking as much knowledge on Cain that he called him a mutant.

Now we have seen Juggernaut stripped of all his organs. This happened after the Thor fight. Basically it means that the Shield trick won't give Thor a victory. Its like Thor being injured by bullets. Now he doesn't have that weakness any longer.

lft4ded
Considering that Mjolnir likely couldn't remove all of the enchantments during their second fight I'm not so sure that's an option any longer considering what Cain learned during WWH. During 8th day Juggernaut's power swelled and Thor didn't even attempt that blocking trick.

I'm still giving it to Thor via BFR but should he stand and fight...well we already know how that goes.
