Now the Old Book says 'an eye for an eye,'
Make 'em feel the pain you feel, so revenge you cry.
'Cos they done you wrong, hurt you oh, so bad. You're
Wantin' to strike back you're so mad - just help 'em die!


But we know a better way,
No matter what they say, a better way -
Thanks be to Lord Jesus.
Not only must you forgive 'em a-hurtin' you,
You gotta learn to love 'em too. Only that will please us.
Oh yes, there's a better way, a better way,
Thanks be to Lord Jesus.


For the New Book says 'turn the other cheek,'
Love will heal the pain you feel, never mind how bleak.
Forgive your enemy? Here's something new! Well
Lovin' foes ain't easy to do. Don't think you're weak!

Hmm... nice. refreshing to see some non-Jesus bashing poetry... not talking about KMC, per se, but all over the web. ha...
