nah. LOTR is fantasy, SW is sci-fi. SW has 5 classic movies out, LOTR has one.

but the books...

the books?the book LOTR is far beyond any quality the SW-books even come close to, of course.

but the SW books aren't meant to be epic masterpieces like LOTR!
LOTR has several times won awards for best book of the century etc., and the actionfilled fun-books of SW does not come close in any way, and that is for sure!
of course, you might LIKE sci-fi action-books better,which is fair, but I think you will find every book-critic or true fan of literature agree on that the SWbooks cannot be compared to the legendary Lord of the Rings.

sorry there mah.......i agree with you, in the post above i thought u said that star wars books are better than LOTR one. It was the other way arround....hehe

lol tolkien was a great writter and I think LOTR will remain one of the most popular books in history, I once read somewhere (butif it's true I dunno) that lotr is the most sold and translated book besides the bible
