Well, I think this is a pretty straight up battle, but I'll outline it for you anyway. The following contains Tales of Symphonia spoilers.

Kratos Aurion is a mercenary, and a very experienced swordsman and warrior who otherwise keeps to himself. Later on in the game, it is revealed that Kratos is actually over 3000 years old, and is a hero of legendary lore. He also has the powers of Cruxis, which are, more or less, angels.

Link is the Hero of Time, wielder of the Triforce of Courage. He wields the legendary Master Sword, and is well versed with other weapons, such as boomerangs, bows and arrows, as well as less conventional weapons, such as bombs.
